I like Gary a lot, but there's no way I could see him being interested in being the editor of Thrasher, nor could I see that going over well with the Thrasher readership.

Thrasher is seriously fucked at this point. It might be Burnett, or Patrick O'Dell, or Tobin Yelland, but I don't think any of those would work out in the long run. Thomas Campbell?? Doubt it. Great question though.

What if Thrasher had a female editor? That would really shake shit up (and still be the end of Thrasher).

Burnett is already the real editor under the “editor at large” title, Jake’s job was more defining the ethos, doing a bit of writing, and being the figurehead. Burnett, while cool, doesn’t really scream the “hell ride” culture of thrasher. Grosso’s the perfect pick to fill those shoes. He’s opinionated, a historian, he’s passionate about skating, loud, and still rips.

Did Jake ever have one? I don't see that as a deal breaker, but if they were to choose someone he'd be a good candidate. Like Adam suggested, they might not even choose anyone, because being Jake Phelps was the role.
