Child abuse cover up’s in the skate industry
« on: March 20, 2019, 01:07:40 PM »
Jules Lynn opened the door for other abuse victims to come forward and tell the truth. How many sketchy photographers, & skate camp employees groomed somebody promising them a skate career?

That was sexual abuse....and the case was dismissed I believe...child abuse...hmmm...have no idea of any actual cases or conspiracies.

Great thread idea.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It’s the courage to continue that counts.

Hendrix's charges got dropped because there wasn't enough/any evidence to support Julz claims and charges sadly.

Child abuse? Like riding for Termite or Hawk clothing?

Damn I left my bubbler at my parents house

As a parent I'd never let my kid go skate with that Nigel Alexander youtube dude. That dude gives me a weird vibe.

Well that's not the case at all, so not really relevant. It's funny how people automatically think made in China means child labor.

Like Dazed and Confused. Nigel gets older but the kids he films stay the same age.

Yeah that guy gives me a very "pedo" vibe.

Imagine telling a girl in a bar or something what you do for a living and being honest about it?

I always get strange vibes when I see a kid that is super skilled at something. Masterchef junior is so fucking creepy. Like, I used to eat mudd at that fucking age but they're making some obscure french dish??? No fucking way parents did not whoop them into greatness...

I've seen a young 8 year old skateboarder with around 30k followers on instagram at my local park once or twice.
The only reason i remember him is because his dad would curse at him repeatedly when he doesn't land a trick. I've seen him on the ground crying from eating shit and his dad would call him a pussy. I've also seen the poor kid crying in the corner of the park trying to stay away from his dad and being too shy to speak up when other kids close to his age would ask if he's okay. This kid's rad dad is a fucking monster and puts his kid through hell for instagram popularity, etc.

When you see the slams this little kid takes on instagram, you know damn well that any other little kid would have stopped after eating shit so badly. Instead, his shitty ass dad forces him to do it again until he either lands it or gets hurt, and then writes on the posts how "passionate" his son is to keep going and land it. This kid never seems hyped to be skating and keeps trying stuff as a result of his fear of his dad. Almost everytime he lands a trick, he looks relieved to finally have it over with and not have to deal with his dad instead of being hyped that he did something hard (like any other little kid would). I honestly hope child services takes custody of the child from that terrible father of his before he gets severely injured from being forced to try something that's too gnarly for him.

Do you think an 8 year old really wants to retry a trick after slamming like that?

TLDR: 8 year old kid eats shit hard, cries in pain and has to re-try tricks because his rad dad forces him to

I've seen the same kid and the same thing at a spot once. His dad's the worst. Anytime I skate one of the newer SD parks there's always a kid being coached and yelled at by their dad. Sucks but it's starting to become more common now. Thanks NKA

Yeah I've seen videos of the dwindle woodshop, no children, a lot of frail looking women though doing industrial level labor, in very conservative skirts and coverings rather than workmanship clothes, prolly some cultural bullshit. We don't really know of this is abuse, these could actually be good jobs in China as to the other options out there. In America we bitch about sweatshop labor but I wonder if it's either work in a sweatshop or try to survive on a diet of mud and crickets, the company Foxconn that makes the iPhone's every one of us owns is always being accused of terrible conditions yet whenever they announce they are hiring they have lines around their offices of people trying to get work. You look on Dwindle's YouTube  and see videos of the woodshop on there, while conditions don't look awesome they also look far from terrible.

Semi off topic but funny, a few years ago a chemical distributor shared a video of their lab to show off their "superior product". Its a fat sweaty chinese dude, bare face no mask, shirt with belly poking out, basketball shorts and sandals. Walks through the dirtiest lab I ever seen, chemical burns all over the walls and soot from previous fires, worst electrical situation I ever seen, could catch fire any minute. Then the fat chinese dude picks a DEEP ass wedgie out of his ass then 10 seconds later walks over and runs the same hand through the tray of the finished chemical like sand, no gloves either. It was next level. Like he expected more sales sharing that video of "superior product"? Fuckin china man, theyre crazy as shit, they really dont give a fuck about conditions, just money. Fuckin poop chemicals. Savage.

Can't forget about our boi Brian Patch! I think he might have been one of those cases where he was unaware the girl was under 18 until it was too late (I'll hafta look into it after this post, this shit was eons ago), but that's still not really an excuse... pretty easy clarify a person's age!

EDIT:

" And I can't speak for the prosecution," he added, "but it certainly doesn't help their case when the alleged victim is yelling at the judge, 'He's not guilty!' She told the court that her father had threatened her if she didn't [point the finger at Patch]. "

Hopefully this is true, don't wanna drag an innocent man's name through the mud years after maybe being cleared of any wrongdoing. According to a Muckmouth article from a few years back (and after the incident) he's entered some Combi contests n shit.

Yea Brian was with Julz, and got sent to jail while Neal(who was doing a lot more seemingly) stayed free.  Brian did skate the legends division last year I think in the combi, probably will again this year too. Neal is banned from skating as far as I know still, haven't looked into it since Julz made her IG post and charges.

As someone mentioned earlier in the thread, the charges against Hendrix were dropped due to a lack of evidence. Don't know how this effects his role in USA Skateboarding or any of that.
That was probably me haha, they probably still have him on payroll, but not at events...the commentators at the park series are different now,and he used to be a part of that. He'll definitely get back to where he was unfortunately

No one fucks with Neal anymore though, so I doubt he'll be a big name in skating again. At least in a good way.

Thanks NKA

In the future the parents will be the ones getting sponsors and cheqs.
The "pro riders" will all be squeaky clean 10 year olds so they can pass all the drug testing and dont cause a fuss about pay between olympic skate comps.

I always thought Larry Clark was a pedophile creeper. I wouldn't be surprised if he raped everyone on the set of kids. How else can you explain Rosario dawsons career?
This is a well know but overlooked by indie films also having been into the VHS/DVD bootleg trading scene it is quite prominent that he has had questionable tastes especially at LA and SF swapmeet, if we look back at Larry Clark films Kids, Ken Park, Wassup Rockers always have topless young boys of questionable ages.
