I don't know what i'm really doing wrong here. Whenever I do actually land on the grip, I jump right off. Thanks alot I really appreciate it.

notice how you are super leaned forward, just remember what fat joe said and "lean back, lean back, do the rock-a-way"

if you're rolling you've gotta throw that board forward with you man. A three flip takes what, less than a quarter of a second? When you're rolling, you can cover a nice bit of ground in that time, so just make sure when you spin that board with your back foot that you throw it forward to where you think you're gonna be in that fraction of a second

it helped me a lot, maybe it wont work as well for you, but you can still give it a try

Honestly, you're there.

Just keep doing that and it's going to click.  I know that's shitty advice, but I feel like you're doing the right thing for the most part.

This is the part where practice helps.

I heavilly agree with this. I think if you make a conscious effort to lean back than it might throw you off.
But hey, it don't hurt to try a couple things as long as you don't forget what ya doing right now.
I learned a lot of tricks at a fast rate in my day and I think it's cause what was going on in my head. If I felt
I needed to do a little something here or there I'd experiment but it was always the minor things that counted.
When I hear lean back, that can mean alot... you can lean over your bolts or your tail and get two entirely different
outcomes. You can also just have a tad more weight over your back legs which would give a different result as well.
I think with a tad more weight(very little) than that MAY help.

Anyways, my best advice like he said is just repition. you're right there. I thought you were gonna be barely rolling with your feet barely on the board or something. I was getting ready to bust out some serious paragraphs, but once I saw it I instantly thought that you just needed repition. That's always the best thing you can do for your abilities. Just for a follow up that'd be sick if you filmed like 3 in a row and threw it in this thread. That'd be rad!

that's crazy that you mentioned that. Mine sucked balls too.
then when I started skating again I tried alot of them and they started feeling really good. Only thing now is I'm skating Vulcanized and ALL my flip tricks need some adjusting due to the grip. It's worth it though. Vulcy is the shit!

Hey thanks for all the replies, it really helps. I'll alter a few things here and there and see what happens. But yeah for sure I'll try to get some footy once I get it down better. Landed only one today but I'll try all day tomorrow. Also, I just stopped wearing vulcs, my ankles can't take them. Why did you decide on them?

I just re-learned 3 flips tonight after not skating forever......I always seem to put my feet really close together and barely scoop and tend to pop straight up.....it looks really goofy when filmed but whatever.....they still feel really good....and most of time it's a perfect bolt landing.....maybe try that....I don't know though....everyone is different in their own way......good luck bro....

For me the key is to scoop with the back foot, that'll help bring your board forward as opposed to landing on the nose. My tre flips were that way forever. Even after I could land them quite consistently, I kept on landing towards the nose.

Pay attention to the scoop motion and do what Magic Ink told you and you've got it.

Oh, if you already haven't, check Stefan Janoski's trick tip from skateboarding.com. That's a pleasure to watch even if you know your tre flips. That's the way they're meant to be done.

That vid so funny to me... he just flicks them like an afterthought, and everything is texbook-perfect.

Hell yeah, that happens to me too. It takes some getting used to, but after it feels great!

When I was first learning treflips it helped to do them off of small drops. I would suggest to go try them down a curb, or three stair, or something like that. Also, dont forget to use your front foot to flick a little bit. A lot of times people get hung up on scooping their back foot too much and not thinking about their front foot.

For me, I put my foot sorta how apples does.  Sorta close together but oh well...go faster than normal (helps me commit and stay with my board, I'm not sure about you) and just flick it hard, try and spread your feet more, it helps.  You've got em more consistently than me though.

Well I'm back here to report that I landed a tre on bolts perfectly. At first my flicking was off but after a couple of tweaks I got the flip down and then the only problem was that I kept landing on the nose. Then Slap popped into my head and I remembered to "Lean Back" just a bit  after scooping and I landed right on the bolts. It was a magical moment in my life. I'll get footy real soon... thanks for the help seriously. I plan on getting alot of footy done during the summer and y'all are really helping me out.

how much money do you have? because there’s a formula or “secrets” behind becoming a consistent skater.
This armor plating is going to get a little more diesel.

Do the spread eagle legs and lean a little bit back to avoid landing on the nose.

Really? Cause I'd seriously be interested. What I'm doing now is watching skate videos and putting them on slow-mo. I have a rail and I was thinking of buying a bench... (the bench ronson and gallant skate at syndrome) I'm not rich or anything but  yeah... I'm all ears... or eyes man.

Semi...

I'm going to build a fun box this week and was wondering what a good height for a fun box is. I plan on learning all the tech tricks like flipping in, nose/tail, shuv/big spin out, etc.

all you have to do is try them more

you already got it

kelchmonster and henry pretty much summed it up

back foot sweep

point your foot, not kicking it

and

practice

watch jovontae do them in that old emb footy of him and carroll at emb

watchin someone do them also helps
