Tranny skaters who skate small boards
« on: April 08, 2019, 10:17:25 PM »
With wide decks pretty much being the normal all around at the moment, are there any pros/transition skaters that are still skating 8.25 setups and under? Doesn’t seem like commonplace nowadays and just can’t think of anyone that comes to mind.

TNT posted a pic of his new set-up on IG not too long ago. 8.125” with 139’s.

8.25” is probably pretty common amongst pros who skate tranny. It’s perfectly wide enough.

Yeah, Wifebeater has ridden 8.18s/139 forever on park tranny, I wouldn't categorize him as a tranny skater like Hawk, Wilkens or Lasek tho.

I think most people these days skate a way bigger setup than is ever necessary. Seeing lanky kids at the skatepark trying to 360 flip 8.75s with rails and 56mm wheels is pretty silly but also to each their own and whatever you feel the best on ect ect.

Corey Juneau skates a 8.125/8.25 with 144 independent, Karl bergling skates a shaped 8.38 (so basically a 8.125) with ace 44...

Those three you listed are vert skaters though.

All the old fucks where im from ride 8.25 cause the wider set ups are weirder to 50 50.  Id say 50 50s feel better on thinner boards but i ride a wide board and never do 50 50s.
