Someone mentioned Penny, heard from a few British friends his hairline is pretty far back and he keeps the beanie on with the sides long to hide it, I noticed Sheckler last time he had his hat off was pretty thin on top. Barker Barrett talks about the weirdness of being bald young in some semi recent interview, something about being able to a slight of hand switching from his hat to a helmet but that it wasn't easy when you're on a trip with a lot dudes for a while.

Brandon Turner went bald up front but he kept the dreads going and hid the rest under a hat. I’d be curious to see Steezus’s hairline.

There was a episode where they were discussing balding and Roger said something to Steezus about him hiding a little bald spot. Steezus got super defensive and mad but still never took the hat off to prove it.

Steezus has a really bad receding hairline

I totally understand the sensitivity around hair loss, it can definitely be a tough topic for anyone to talk about. I'm not sure about Daewon, but I know that hair loss is quite common among men in general, including skateboarders.

Someone mentioned something about Daewon not being seen without a beanie in over a decade, which made me naturally assume that he must be bald.
I’m sure I can find it in my post history, but Daewon posted his new passport picture and he had a surprisingly strong hairline.

Damn it all had the Chief, Brockman, Dane Burman and Gabbers. I'm 35 and terrified of losing my hair. I'd look like an alien.

As in extraterrestrial or undocumented immigrant? I understand the extraterrestrial alien analogy, but I am going to have to respectfully disagree on the latter comparison.

From 18 to 21 my hair thinned out a tonne, not receding but just less thick.  I remember a couple of friends piling on me when my hair got wet that i'd be bald in 2 years.  Another friend when I was 22 made public fun of me going bald.  Fuckin' over 20 years later, my hair is exactly the same and they're all mostly bald.  Now it can fall out, i'm past giving a shit, but it's still totally fine.  My dad was totally bald by mid 20s so I figured that was my fate.

I think lots of people freak out in their 20s when their hair changes, I know I did.  Was on propecia, even tried Rogaine once but that just made you look like your hair was wet but it had just changed post teens into my adult hair.

What I have learned is that most of it is due to genetics from your mothers side. But I have this theory that caps, especially those low six panel ones and beanies, are part of the loss of hair. If you ever wore skinny jeans your calves would likely be bald because the fabric would rub the hair off. More evidence supporting my claim is that all my friends who wore caps like that every day are going bald. Me on the other hand who has always had a nice set of hair never really wore anything on my head.

I know I say this with beautiful, voluptuous thick hair but there is no reason to be shamed of thinning hair it's only natural selection :)

Is it true it’s all genetics ?

male pattern baldness which is the most common type is an autoimmune disease so its genetics but also in combination of with hormone levels and age
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15237265/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pattern_hair_loss
this type of hair loss cant be prevented but can be slowed down

there are different types of hair loss caused by malnutrition, stress, trauma, hormone levels etc

I skate and I also have a bald patch. Must be related. I recommend quitting if you want to keep your locks. Good luck out there.

yeah i feel like a lot of skaters stress out when they're on a session or even not washing their hair as much as they should.

i've been around other athletes and musicians and all of those homies don't have as bad as receding hair lines than most of my skate friends.

I had great hair until the birth of my son around 26, hair to my shoulders, after his birth I starting receding pretty quickly, I just accepted it and went to the wood with my shit though, I do wear a hat everyday, so I don’t get a sunburn, but after awhile I just stopped caring about what other people thought of my hair, I do go back and look fondly on my luxurious wavy brown mane, but now I scare people by looking like a slightly less intimidating Edward Norton…. Minus the swastika chest tattoo, and the hate crimes
