I was always a fan but I've literally been listening to nothing but Ramones live shows over the past few weeks or maybe even months. Some YouTube channels like Slender 100 have dozens of them. The evolution of their playing style and performances over time is fascinating to study, especially because it's tempting to draw parallels with all the stress the group as a whole was going through from just being around one another yet still having to make it work. I love catching the occasional fuck-ups in chord or song progressions, there's quite a few instances of them fucking up and occasionally aborting songs live, which takes a heavier meaning when you know they used to punch each other after sets over one bad chord.
Also recently I ran into a live version of Blitzkrieg Bop sang by Dee Dee that was recorded pretty late, and was in disbelief when I realized how he actually didn't know the words to the song at all, despite so many years of playing it live with The Ramones.
