Halfway through Euphoria Season One. Pretty gnarly subject matter but pretty fascinating.

Pros: Great casting, writing and direction. It’s editing style is a bit inconsistent but you gotta go with the flow I suppose.
Cons: The contemporary hip hop and pop music is pretty annoying. Also, the titles of the episodes usually reference 90’s hip hop songs which doesn’t work for me.

The Righteous Gemstones is also a very good show, too. I don’t have a single bad thing to say about it.

I am getting super excited for Watchmen, which is premiering a month from now.
dude I watched that too and the pilot episode had me so turned off by it that I didn’t think I could finish then I caught the episode titles like ‘Shook one pt ll’ and kept watching then I noticed the clothing. Supreme, sci fi fantasy, peels, etc and was like what the fuck lol. But yeah strange editing but overall pretty cool. I liked it

His ongoing crying about the 'lazy millennials' is so embarrassingly bad I had to stop watching a while back. Not that he isn't on the verge of yelling at a cloud in general.

Big Love was great.
Tell Me You Love Me was only a season and was worth a watch.
Vice Principals was dark as fuck.
I liked True Blood.

I was really hoping to see a Succession thread; basically any 2019 HBO show deserves its own SLAP thread.
It's two seasons in and if you can stand shows that are just straight dialogue, this show offers a lot more than what meets the eye.

I saw this recently and wanted to share it with anyone who may be quietly watching as well.
I got beef with Brian sumner and it’s onsite for that fat fucking red coat.

Just started Season 2 of Succession. I avoided it because it looked like a show about a bunch of rich assholes, and it is, but definitely agree it’s got depth. Not bad at all. In the words of the Immortal Bard:

A couple episodes into Chernobyl and it's worth a watch - only 5 episodes.

Succession is amazing and if you haven't started it you have two great seasons to binge on.

If you want to watch week to week, The Outsider is fantastic. It's a Stephen King adaptation. I know there are a lot of those lately.

There are two episodes out so far.

Just cause 1917 is coming out and the trailer looked rad I went back and binge watched Band of Brothers & The Pacific. Forgot how great those miniseries were.

Still never watched The Pacific. Seen BoB at least 5 times through and my wife has easily watched it twice as many times.

The wire is a classic

Sopranos was dope but didn’t age as well

If you can get over how unrealistic cousin Greg’s involvement is on important scenes then Succession is a good watch

Season 2 of How to Make it in America is a pretty good portrait of what makes NYC dope ( with some Lake Bell tits  ;D )

Season 2 Of Girls is a good portrait of what makes NYC lame (with a lot of Lena Dunham tits  :( )

For sure. His character is so odd. He doesn't do much and it makes you laugh. Little Orphan Funkhouser RIP.

Why do you feel this way?

Outside of Galdalfini and a couple others the acting was weak, this was before great actors would settle for TV so it makes sense. I was rewatching it last year and was kinda thrown off.

I’ve still never seen all of the last two seasons of Sopranos and I was a fan. They were so obviously stretching it because they didn’t want to lose subscribers. (My friend’s parents literally only had HBO for Sopranos and cancelled between seasons)

After a while the constant dead ends were kind of silly. You never knew when some event would be a future land mine or simply be forgotten. It added tension but it seems lazy now when you consider how carefully planned and intricate subsequent “golden era” tv shows were.

On a side note about The Sopranos I just found out Gabagool is Capicola. I wondered about that whenever they mentioned it on the show.

Flight of the Conchords is another HBO classic. Reading through this reminds me of how much great content HBO has put out. Their track record is pretty incredible.

I Know This Much to be True

So damn good. Over the top and relentlessly upsetting and sad so be warned. So good though. For some reason one of Ruffalo’s characters (he plays a pair of twins) Dominick kept reminding me of Gino.

In addition to the shows already mentioned, I really enjoy HBO Real Sports.
