"Wish you guys would have asked about the recovery of his drug problem he had. One of the reasons he dropped out of the skating game for so long. Good to see him coming back."

Any truth to this? If so, what drugs? Asking for a friend.

he talks a bit about it in his chromeball interview, just like as an extension of the skateboarding lifestyle and partying too much (so maybe coke? opioids?). prolly didn't get into it on nine club because he has a family/has been sober since 2011...

Actually the concern centers around sponsorship as neither Roberts or Kelly has any
idea that people ride skateboards without compensation for any extended period of time.
And that Roger fella just hates being there at this point

Haha, this is so true... worst was Bobby Puleo's interview, the guy is so interesting and they spent 10 minutes talking about his old wheels and when he finally changed the wheels he lost one of them in a downhill, and then spent another 5 minutes explaining how he couldn't find the wheel...

It's a shame, nineclub would have so much more potential to have decent discussions instead of pre-scholar topics.

Just wanna put this out there, some guys aren't comfortable talking about their past. It can be triggering, it can bring bad feelings and negative attention when there doesn't need to be. If it comes up it comes up. Maybe they talked about it and later on Reese wanted to cut it.

Reese doesn't owe us shit, and the nine club ain't Oprah.

I imagine the sound of Crab and Jelly, flicking their chubby beans to the idea of a livable paycheck from a sponsor in skateboarding, is actually what makes Roger hate being there. It’s not about the garbage questions or persistent giggling- it’s the lack of sleep.

Crob comes off like a pretty private person, and that is his choice to be. Vulnerability allows people to relate, but some of us prefer to be left alone, or at least to do our own thing. Not feel the need to appease everyone.

I'd imagine, like a lot of people, he has other hustles. A lot of people in LA work more than one job/have side hustles or multiple.

Out of all of the Crail camp he is getting the most exposure with Nine Club. He is probably making more now than he ever has in his career. They have a pay subscription service, Nine club product, monetized channel. They have show sponsors now. He wears a Choco cap every episode, whic he probably gets a "photo incentive" type check for. Still has boards out.

If he was smart with that Adio money he would have bought a condo and had it paid off by now and he admits to driving a Chevy Volt which are like $30k fully loaded. Even with shit credit that's like a $300 monthly payment. Just a rough estimate is he could easily live on like $3k a month. Even if he didn't buy his condo/apartment, maybe rent controlled?
