Andy Howell did a switch board slide on one in 1281 by New Deal, which I think is 1991 ish, Mike Carroll probably did the first switch noselside in questionable, Creager and Frank Hirata went switch frontside in Super Conducter Collider, around 92-93, and I think the first switch 50-50 may have been Bobby Puleo in his 411 am part im guessing 1996, but there was also a dude from Portland name Scott Yamura that switch 50-50 rails pretty regularly that might have beat Bobby to it.

Was Koston's switch smith in Uno the first done on a rail?
He does a switch tail on the same rail in that part too.

Damm this is interesting.

I instantly started wondering who did the first switch 5050 on a round rail.
Infact I have multiple questions;
First 50-50 on a round rail?
First switch flip onto a handrail grind? Stefan and switch flip 5050s ?
First kickflip back lip on a handrail?
I'm going to argue that Placebo owes their entire career to a Canadian dude's skate video part. Appleyard should be getting royalties for this shit.

A guy who rode for Zimbabwe (remember them?) ss 5050'd a full size rail in 96. It was a full page ad in TWS.

I would say koston or Mariano, Mariano did mollie 180 switch krook on a rail in New World Order, which I think that was probably before anyone had documented a switch krook.

1991 Marcus Wyndham. Switch backside 180 nosegrind. Just a little ahead of his time.

Not switch, but Freddy nollie noseslid the 5 stair hubba at City Hall. This was during the Sub Zero days, ‘93-‘95, long before that trick became popular. There was a handrail next to the hubba, but it got ripped out sometime before ‘94. Stevie skated the rail on the other side and got a frontside 180 flip nosegrind.

Ron Bertino first switch back side lip
this!

Yeah, I always thought Heath was the first to start flipping into rails (pretty sure he was first to document kickflip back lip in Rolling Thunder) but I'm sure there was some obscure vid in the mid 90s where dudes were doing that. Actually, wasn't Duffy doing tre flip lipslides in virtual reality?

edit: Marcus Wyndam was God-tier with his tech skating, surprised he doesn't get more props
