So I had a debate with a friend this past weekend about fast food fries. He thinks McDonalds has the best fries. I think he's nuts.

This is regarding national fast food chains, not local or regional restaurants.

What do you think?

My top 3 are:

1. Chick-Fil-A
2. Arby's
3. Wendy's

I like McDonalds sweet potato fries. There is another chain in Sweden that makes good fries but you'll never eat there. If I'm ever in America I'll get so fat, so fast!

If you had you would have known that everyone in here is wrong for not having said they have the best fries! You get the spicy chicken sandwich and a Dr Pepper. You take or bite or two of the spicy chicken and when you can't take the heat anymore you hit the fries, preferably with cold ketchup! Those are the best fucking fries out of anyone.

Any time I see it on the menu I order it. I almost want to travel for legit poutine. Any suggestions?

It is not fast food but they have it at bars and food spots. I doubt youd consider it legit poutine.
I've had a spicy one with chorizo and pepperjack with shoe string potatoes and it was fire.

It's a "aim for the stars" situation. Gravy. Cheese. Fries. If they fuck that up they probably aren't in business long!

Thanks for this thread. I listened to a radio show this morning about the best burger chains, and I wondered how Wendy's fries were since I haven't been there in years. They seem reputable. FYI the poll placed a lot of value on cost, so I don't think it accurately reflected the best burgers, but In and Out won. I don't disagree with that conclusion - I just think the poll had a bad algorithm.

In Canada, Taco Time mexi fries. They are basically hash brown nuggets glorified with some spice, but fuck are they good (and even deadlier dipped in ranch dressing)
