I've tried really hard to spread the Melvins gospel but it just doesn't land on a lot of people. I've also found that people are wildly closed minded about anything that has a hint of ska in it. There's a lot of real corny ska bands, but I think a punk song with a couple horns is like ear candy and I don't get the hate.

I really like old rockabilly like Robert Gordon and Link Wray. something that gets blended with outlaw country and I hate absolutely hate it when the two are combined. I find sticking to your own lane in music is what makes it their own flavor.

Big Hawk? DJ Screw? or Pimp C..... Fat Pat seems to be my go to when barbecuing and I get the funniest looks when I blast it through a bass guitar amp.

I'm not gonna lie, I love Coheed and Cambria.

I've seen them play like 10 times.

But everyone else hates them, and I understand why, their music is absurd and pretty obnoxious.

One ex liked them because she was a super sci-fi nerd and I was able to convince another nerdy stoner friend of mine to check them out and he almost came to the show once with me because he said he "got it" but I'm not sure if that meant he actually liked them, or just understood why people might like them.

Hahaha my wife does this to me constantly, I met my wife at a great show in Denver 09’ Colorado. Lying bitch & the restraining orders and few other local bands Rosskopp and Speed Wolf. We got to know each other and it moved very fast.

Fast forward to 2 years time we’re living in her hometown and I know a bit about her and having great music taste till I snoop around her storage locker and boom treasure trove of boy bands and 90’s pop music.


 Not that I’m going to hold it against her just you never really really wanna know what’s your SO favorite bands are till you find their stash of goods.
