Some of the emulators (MAME, NeoGeo, Sega CD...) need some bios related tinkering for them to work. Never managed to get Amiga or Turbografx CD games to work on my model B/Retropie combo.  Recalbox seems to be a bit more plug 'n play, though you lose some of the visual layout modification options.

Beats shelling out 1000+ dollars for Majuu Ou.

Every few months i start searching for raspberry PI projects, get a whole list of them, and then of course do nothing.  Still haven't even placed an order.  I really want to do some kind of project just for fun and maybe order a few to let my kids get some experience with basic hardware and some beginner coding.  If you do something cool I would love to see it.

been using one as my kodi media player for a couple of years now

I'm liking the idea of switching up to a recall box os if it's got kodi + emulators on it though (as I can never be arsed to switch out SD cards for my retropie one)

I never got round to doing anything with said GP team and the raspberry PI is sitting somewhere in the pile of unused electronics at work.

So I decided that I am going to build a retro pi (super famikon) with my little dude.

before I ask google sensei for advice... any good rom sites still around?

I set mine up with Retro pi and Kodi a few years ago. I remember using Emuparadise and Coolrom which had all the NES, SNES, and PS1 games I wanted.

Also, check out the Youtube channel ETAprime. He has alot of good information/ tutorials on the pis and emulators.

Also set mine up as a retropie and it's been pretty fun.  I bought an old arcade cabinet that didnt work for $40, gutted it and using shit from goodwill (monitor, speaker, light, etc.) and some buttons and board from xgaming or something it came out pretty good!  Probably cost me $150 altogether and was a fun project!  Would recommend the whole retropie route!
