I people watch and make up stories of randoms just to get through the day when work is slow or old people are sleeping. Silently judging younger people who visit their elders and it hasn't got me in trouble yet....

I wear a shirt till it literally rots off me because I like the print or the material. I ride a fixie and own a chrome bag, I get quite a bit complements when riding next to the ladies and old biddies as they want loving too.

When I was 15-16 I would listen to Tegan and Sara while I smoked crack. Favorite band to pack some pebbles to.

I like to think that was pretty hipster.

I’ve gone from drinking only tall boys to drinking weird flavour craft beers, I don’t know what to make of it
[close]
Give it time, you’ll have a hankering for that weird flavor you can’t find kinda like a song that you can’t get out of your head.

Yeah, I can't drink regular IPA's anymore. They just don't do it for me any longer. Now I need a double dry hopped, citra, mosaic with oats and lactose conditioned on over ripe peaches hazy imperial double IPA.

Fuck that hurt to type, I'm probably definitely a hipster.

[close]

double anything is not for me. i get too fucked up too fast so ive got to keep it between like 4-6% alcohol. i'll go through a craft kick, then i'll have the feeling like they all taste the same and i'm wasting my money so i switch back to regular stuff. Then I'll get bored of those and want something unique and go back to craft stuff. its a cycle. right now im sort of in the middle ground. my current favorites are shiner bock and stroh's bohemian.
[close]

Those are both pretty good and easy to find. I found a good go between for both of these worlds is Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing. Taste like it came from a small craft brewery, yet mass produced and fairly cheap.
yes, that one is a good drop! I always have 5 or 6 cans in the fridge but hazy little thing is a nice go to!
As I already mentioned, I drink cold brew coffee collect vinyl and watches and am into Japanese denim ... fuck I sound cringey on paper

I think ‘lost in translation’ is a terrible movie, and a little racist.

nothing wrong with that! I refused to watch the Kill Bill series for years because I was way deep into Japan and martial arts (specifically sword arts) and knew it would probably do a disservice to both

Not to turn this into a film criticism thread but my elaborated problem with Lost in Translation is that the Scarlet Johansen character’s motives are centered around the idea that her husband is too work obsessed, leaving her isolated and seeking fulfillment elsewhere. That would make sense if they weren’t late 20-something newlyweds, she had to have known how work obsessed he was and had to be part of the reason she fell in love with him.

Reading between the lines it just makes Sofia Coppola look like a bitch who was mad that Spike Jonze’s friends weren’t impressed with her first movie.

Also I hated how Tokyo was depicted as an analogy of excessive living from the lens of a privileged white American woman. Seems like Vegas or Miami would’ve been more appropriate, but she wouldn’t have been able to use the sick Japanese aesthetic. So basically use the imagery, but diss the culture.

But yeah…hipsters!

I got called gay a lot in high school because i wore a vest over a striped shirt and listened to "indie" bands like death cab, Coldplay, brand new, the shins, the killers, modest mouse and interpol. Jokes on them, my partner and i got together because i have a Coldplay tattoo and she wanted to try and boss up on me if it was from their later albums and not their earlier ones

Do you keep mentioning coldplay and indie music together on purpose in order to troll someone to say 'coldplay isn't indie bud' and then you can call them a hipster?

No i lump it in there to illustrate how completely meaningless the term "indie" became almost immediately after it began being used as a signifier

-more than 2 vintage bicycles
-art director job
-large record collection
-daily espresso
-vintage t shirt collection
-local craft bees and food only
-an intolerance for suburbs even though I can't really afford the city

I blame skating it is responsible for all of these things.

Ginsburg was a member of NAMBLA, but I think he also paid Arthur Russell's electric bills, so overall I guess it all balances out

The weirder a movie is for most people, the more automatically hyped on it. I guess all around I just like to enjoy what most others find uncomfortable which sure as shit sounds hipster
