Pour some rit dye into a shallow dish, put the shoes in, and let the soles soak it up for like 2 weeks or more. It probably won’t work well, but it’s a stupid idea anyways.

I’ve dyed canvas shoes in the washing machine with some washing machine dye. Not Rit cuz we don’t have that in Finland and the soles did take up the dye a bit. Dying shoes black turned the soles kinda light dirty bluish grey. Not a bad look really. So soaking them in the dye for a long time could work nicely. I just don’t think you can get the soles flat enough to take up the color evenly without also soaking the upper. So in the end I don’t really see it working out.
