that toe cap is gratuitous.
Let me preface this post with the fact that I am slightly inebriated, very uneducated and I havent read any papers or done any research at all, or read your post really.

Yep, there's a photo of Al Boglio skating them in an old slam too. I skated a few pairs in about 94. Super Glue over the canvas and rub it in to make it hard. Could colour the panels in too.
Yeah, Bogs, Cuzza and Seb used to rock them pretty hard! First time I saw DD skating in downtown Sydney, he was also rocking them

Impish sausage is definitely gonna blow up as a euphemism this year

There’s no originality in skate shoes whatsoever

Absolutely.

I guess it's not worth the potential loss in sales so we see the same silhouettes and sneaker rip offs.

Most unique shoe in recent times has been the Greco skate/dress shoe hybrid.

That toecap too square

Its actually extremely round dawg..i get that you see a square in that black spot between the toecap and the laces but they are indeed round..

an updated evan smith would be cool. It was a great shoe. But it only lasted about a week or two. Got extremely wide on the toebox, feet were swimming, not snug like they were the first few days. Laces ripped fast. bottom sole wore down almost all the way to the insole. So if they touched up the tfunk and beefed it up id most certainly try a pair. The evan smiths were pretty much a replica of the huf classic in almost every single way in terms of what was wrong with them and what was great about them.

I never tried them, but from your own description that sounds like the opposite of a "great shoe".

^I agree with the laces and soles but I love that wide fit. HUF classics then again were the shittiest fitting skate shoes I ever had.

Fits my foot like a glove, every foot is different. Even my pushing foot is different from my flicking foot.

Haha true true.

I like the way the shoe looks. Kind of like Calvin’s (calvin and Hobbes) Cory’s shoe.....little bread loaves, toddler shoe. I’ve got a lot of 874s and my lynx look real dumb with that combo.

Most unique shoe in recent times has been the Greco skate/dress shoe hybrid.

People keep saying this but I feel like there's actually been a handful of original shoes to come out in the last five years, it's just that skaters hate most of em - Sucius are really interesting design, the 3st series, the Koston 3/Dunk High Elite were really innovative and honestly most people who saw me wear them in person were all like "oh those actually look pretty sick irl", a couple of the tech Es shoes from a couple years ago were really sick looking but not my style, of course they ditched that promising start to go the reissue route which is fucking annoying, the Ave pro models that have come out, the Vans ultrarange is pretty interesting, that godawful looking TNT with rapidweld that came out was pretty uh, unique, Supra keeps putting out weird pillows with plastic grafted onto them by blind sweatshop workers and that's a really different approach to making skate shoes. The list goes on.

the t funk should fit alot more people. evans shoe had the laces come down too far and created a pinch point because the laces were past where the shoe was gusseted for the tongue. evans shoe wasnt bad but there were things needing to be changed, a ton of people always broke the laces because they ended too low on the toe. tfunks shoe should have kep the original sole which looked more like the pattern on the side wall. kept the theme going a bit more.
Man, maybe they figured out a way to “loosen” the laced area in the shoe but probably. Still waiting on that technology.
Will that be the definition of tech

I mean i vaguely said it was great while pointing out one simple con (it doesnt last long, like half of you) . A shoe can skate great while its in good shape...

Wide and comfy. Doesn't look or feel like Evan Smith shoe. Outsole seems thicker and impact-S insole feels great, I've been skating couple of sessions and haven't even miss my Footprints. They might feel kinda bulky if you're used to "feels like sock" type of vulcs but I like it.
