The wait begins again. Verso part 2. Anyone get a shot of the essay?

If Mark is like bukowski or some shit, David is like Stephen King. Ain’t no cerebral thought In that boys skating outside of, “damn this is gnarly”.

That might be the worst literature analogy i’ve Come across... bukowski was an unintellectual drunk without friends that was recognized late for his gross honesty and is disgusting and bland to read.
Steven king is carefully constructed literature, a meticulous universe tying different independent works together through the decades, careful use of language and super intricate stories that thrill without blunt and perverted depiction, contrary to bukowski.

Still excited to see this part. David Gonzales is brutal

Yes a strange analogy, I agree.

But: You have never really read Bukowski, have you? Read "Notes of a dirty old man" and his poetry. He could be a very intelligent and deep thinker. His ideas of sex and society I find to be very relevant still. I also like his writing for the humor and surrealism, which strangely seems very much rooted in reality.

Stephen King's literature on the other hand has never done much for me. I guess he provides some good entertainment for the fantasy nerds and he's a very good writer, but he's never really made me feel surprised or enlightened about anything real.

I was wondering about this too. Spirit in Black is one of Slayer's most under appreciated songs...I'm very partial to Seasons though... Thrasher used it in an edit years ago, might have been a bust or bail edit or something...but it worked well...

Only on Slap could a thread on David Gonzalez's new part descend into a debate on assigning literary styles to professional skateboarders

Yup no perverted depiction in having a bunch of 13 year olds gang bang their female friend in a sewer bc there was no better way to show them becoming adults or passing time or whatever.   Also, hard to praise the meticulousness of a guy whose heavy coke addiction prevents him from remembering writing what like a decade of books?

I'm such a core, authentic skateboarder i'm going to take time out of my day to let people know precisely how core and authentic I am. I am going to do this by commenting on a thread about upcoming skate footage from a skater i don't prefer.  i'm going to let everyone know i won't be watching (tee hee i'm so silly!) this footage and that the person doing this skating is underneath my threshold of excellence.  I know it's cool to be amazing at tranny and street, but you can't like rock and roll TOO MUCH.  it's okay to like fashion too much though :) :)
