The wait begins again. Verso part 2. Anyone get a shot of the essay?
If Mark is like bukowski or some shit, David is like Stephen King. Ain’t no cerebral thought In that boys skating outside of, “damn this is gnarly”.
That might be the worst literature analogy i’ve Come across... bukowski was an unintellectual drunk without friends that was recognized late for his gross honesty and is disgusting and bland to read.
Steven king is carefully constructed literature, a meticulous universe tying different independent works together through the decades, careful use of language and super intricate stories that thrill without blunt and perverted depiction, contrary to bukowski.
Still excited to see this part. David Gonzales is brutal
Yes a strange analogy, I agree.
But: You have never really read Bukowski, have you? Read "Notes of a dirty old man" and his poetry. He could be a very intelligent and deep thinker. His ideas of sex and society I find to be very relevant still. I also like his writing for the humor and surrealism, which strangely seems very much rooted in reality.
Stephen King's literature on the other hand has never done much for me. I guess he provides some good entertainment for the fantasy nerds and he's a very good writer, but he's never really made me feel surprised or enlightened about anything real.
