How to air out???

Do you just ride up and hope for the best? A homie told me to just ride up the ramp and get my knees to my chest. Any tips/tricks? All help and opinions are appreciated.

You mean like a flyout? I think it's basically the same as getting air off a bump. Just make sure you go faster.

Riding up and out vs up and back down

Keep riding and you'll feel the moment when you need to react. It's just having a plan and sticking to it

best advice:

practice it coming up out of a bank first.
when you get to the top/lip of the bank just huck it. dont ollie.
if you do it with the right timing, you will get off the ground.
when you feel comfortable enough, take it to a 1/4 pipe and do the same thing, just be more forceful

Definitely this method. Getting some speed and airing on a hip helps too. A good quick knee pump at the base of the quarter pipe helps you maintain your momentum before your flyout.
