The adventures of Pete & Pete
« on: October 12, 2019, 06:43:26 PM »
Years ago I was in Philadelphia 03’ for an independent film festival. I got to meet Mike Marrona and Danny Tamberelli, we got to talking about the show and punk bands as it was during Aus-Rotten/Behind Enemy Lines robotofest I invited them out and holy shit those guy’s could party their faces off.

If anyone ever meets those guy’s you’re going to have a rad time hanging with Pete and Pete.

The show was such an absurd but wholesome feeling show, I’m glad you showed me this part. It genuinely makes me smile whenever I hear Polaris. Makes me appreciate Jimmy Carlin’s part even more.

That song is waaaay to good for kid's show. Perfect shoegaze. It's sick as fuck when shows have an in house band.
Before you say the music sucked, have you considered shutting the fuck up?

Wow I never knew anyone had a part to Polaris, though I always thought Hey Sandy was a good song for skating.

This show was way underrated, way ahead of its time, still good to this day. Early to mid 90s Nick was the fuckin shit, those shows were barely for kids. Ren & Stimpy, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Pete & Pete, Kablaam with Prometheus and Bob.

The whole Polaris album is good by the way.

even as a kid i knew ren and stimpy was aimed at adults too. I don’t remember the actual pete and pete show at all but i remember the song clearly and i haven’t heard it in probably 20 years, maybe more

The best show that came out of the 90’s was this and Are you afraid of the dark? Ren and Stimpy was rad. This is an example of how to get to my soft spot was the Snick of the mid 90’s.

Kid shows were so good back then, the cameos on Pete and Pete were classic. I'm surprised none of the streaming services have any of the 90's Nickelodeon stuff.

He was invited on for more episodes as Nona father towards the 3rd season.

DVD rights weren’t renewed for releasing the 3rd season so there’s only 2 seasons on DVD. I have found some online stuff to watch the 3rd season but it’s sketchy at most.

I don’t know about all that stuff but I know they’ve got amazing music tastes.

Whenever I met them my friend’s and I saw them talking with some cute gals we knew and they were the ones who did most of the sweet talking good times were had.

this show was the fucking shit! I was really young at the time, so probably couldn't appreciate it as much as I would not.

Last part I remember was the bus driver waiting at the shitty traffic signal, and the entire episode he wouldnt move because it was always on red.

Loved the intro song as well. Used it in a small edit once.

Salute Your Shorts.
Budnick and Donkeylips that was great show too, Camp Oniwana held a special place in my heart but Pete and Pete was the show that shaped my humor.

I catch myself mimicking Artie just to have a laugh with those who know about the show, if you see someone who does his flexing you’re going to be like Artie!

Fuck yes, I love this show! It just doesn't feel like fall if I don't watch the "Halloweenie" episode where big Pete and little Pete try to break the record for most houses trick'or'treated.
