Real 8.25 decks coming in at 8.375
« on: November 10, 2019, 01:44:29 PM »
Is this pretty normal for Real 8.25 decks? Ive seen other people say the same thing on Youtube. Is it just specific decks that are weird like this by them, such as the Full SE's, etc? I really wanna try an 8.25 deck by Real but dont wanna end up with an 8.375... :-\

I've found 8.25 deck=8.125 truck. Lines up perfect.  8 3/8 deck=8.5 trucks.

Are you sure you don't mean 8.12 Deck = 8.25 Deck?

And yeah OP I've heard the same thing.  Ben Degros mentioned it in one of his videos and I believe it was with an 8.06 Full SE.  I want to say it was close to 8.125" when measured.  It might have something to do with what number deck it was in the press.  Do you remember what the top of your deck said?  DLX is one of the only companies that actually tells you.

The 8.25" SE sample and production decks I've ridden were just a hair wider, they were by no means an 8.37x.

Only measurement discrepancy I've had with a bbs deck was a Real Ishod twin tail, supposed to be 8.25 and it measured slightly under 8.125, which was a bummer. But I consider that a one-off compared to PS Stix, which is a genuine crap shoot when it comes to listed vs. actual dimensions.

DLX does have a popular 8.25 shape that measures closer to 8.3 - I'm neurotic about boards and that's pretty much the shape I look for. It's not the full, but it's still fairly blunt. Each brand (Real, Anti Hero, Krooked) always has at least one or two 8.25's on that shape. I'm surprised they don't just make a new label for those ones, because they're pretty consistently around 8.3.
