the two Mother boards I skated (8.25/8.5) had steeper concave than any DLX/Polar/Magenta i've skated
[close]

I've had a Mother 8.25 and Quasi 8.375 and they both were steeper than the Magenta and Poler decks I skated earlier on.

Awesome.  I will give these a shot once they start making 8" boards with good graphics.  I love me some concave (although the Magenta I skated felt pretty much perfect and the Polar I skated felt way too flat).

Gonna set up this DOG/GOD deck next, probably some eS Sal 20's too.

Also, thanks to NHS for the MOB Grip, best grip in the game, gonna try the M-80. Never used yet.

Does anyone know or recommend a company that makes Crailtap shapes? Like band-aid shape, and very flat like Girl/Chocolate and Cliche decks. I love the G028 Crailtap has, but it sucks having to buy a new deck every 2 weeks.

All of the FA, Hokey and Quasi boards i've seen have a similar shape to that Girl shape.

The Buz is fire. REALLY nice.

@Noble - really digging the Baker Reynolds Grateful Dead board too.

@Safari - How are you liking that Quasi? After having good luck with PS boards over the last year, I'm back to hitting a bad streak with quality issues.

It has skated really well so far. I guess I've been quite lucky and both of my previous 2 mother decks had no issues whatsoever. A friend of mine did get a bad Hockey deck so I do believe that there was a bad batch of PS sticks at some point.

Not one of my usual setups but I won this Mini Logo 8.25 from a giveaway.  I was going to just give it to a kid at the park but the shape looked interesting so I thought I would give it a shot.  It was the most consistent sesh that I've had in years.  I literally couldn't believe how easily I was landing stuff

nice, i saw a blank board once and it looked thick, like it was a 8 ply board, but i thought that 139's and 147's works better for 8.25's than 149's, and whats with the shape anyway?

The board is 7ply and it feels like the same thickness as any regular board that I've had.  This is the first time that I've skated 139's on an 8.25.  I always used 149's or Theeve 8.25's.

The shape is really interesting.  It's an 8.25 over the front trucks and an 8.125 over the rear.  If I remember correctly, Magenta's Generator shape is similar.

The tail is the biggest difference and what made me want to try the board.  Powell describes it as "a scoop tail for a more secure foot placement without feeling trapped".  Basically there is a large flat section after the rear truck holes before the tail kicks up.  There's an interview with Paul Schmitt where he describes this is the leverage point on boards and more flat gives you more control.  This has a crazy amount of flat before the kick though.

Anyways, it's incredibly easy to control flip tricks and manuals.  I stood on it and did a perfect, effortless kickflip then tried to do the same on my 8.38 Toy Machine and it looked like shit.

The entire day could have been a total fluke.  I'll find out when I skate tomorrow but overall I'm pretty stoked

I know the graphic is supposed to be a bomb, but it just looks like the heat transfer is too small for the board,

sounds interesting, i'm thinking of my next board size after the 8.125, i'm thinking maybe a 8.18, 8.2 or maybe a 8.25 for my next one. a bigger tail sounds nice though.

I actually think it's a stencil.  It feels like spray paint and the top was sprayed white.  My guess is that it was an extra blank or factory second that they had sitting around since it was a giveaway prize

Is it me or does it seem like mini logo has good underrated product? Haven't seen for myself, but it seems peculiar that I hear how good mini logo trucks are, then to hear how good there decks are. Isn't this more of a budget brand or something (assuming that means lower quality)?

i had a mini logo for my first real set up when i was ten and it was pretty nice, also i found it crazy how minil logo has 8.25 trucks way before krux decided to make that size. also their website was WAY different than i was expecting though. http://minilogoskateboards.com/

Mini logos have great quality for the price; wheels, grip, bearings.... Pretty much everything they make. I just wish they made a shorter 8.5 shape. Their 8.5 is 33.5 inches long, but I prefer a shorter board that is in between 31.5 to 32 inches.
