There’s nothing wrong with the Cromer shape board I was skating, but I’m not sure if it’s right for me as my main set up. We’re in the middle of a heat wave and I broke a serious sweat just setting up my board in the sun. Looks like it’s gonna be sunset and night sessions until things cool off

What’s up with the “nowhere fast” stickers? They’re tight. Is that a brand?

I haven’t lived in Massachusetts for almost 5 years now, but the owner is one of my best friends. Still pretty bummed out I had to cancel my trip back home this summer. Hopefully next year

I don't know if you skate parks or not..but if you do, you're in for a suprise when you get to Mass. They have popped up everywhere lately, and they are goooood. I hadn't been back to Mass (with the intent of skating) in about 5 years. I was beyond overwhelmed.
I always wanted to be a transition skater instead of a street skater, but the only skateparks were those awful Scituate pre-fab parks. For a long time the only public skatepark bowl was the lumpy and mellow Hyde Park bowl. Now that whole place is bowled out; parks are getting renovated and other amazing parks are popping up left and right it seems. I wish it happened when I was a teenager, but hey, it’s better late than never
fuck you bama

Didn't exactly need a new board and I have boards on deck, but I went out and bought two new quasi 8.5s because I was missing that boxy shape.

Been skating mostly passports and most recently a frog 8.5 and they feel great, just a bit long and after cracking my tail, I really wanted to buy myself one of these more square shapes again.

8.5 Quasi Bob DeKeyzer
149 Indy Hollows with medium bones bushings
54 Spitfire Conical Fulls F4
Reds
Jessup
Rowans

I'm inadvertently riding a bobby board and his pro model spitfires wheels. His footage is amazing and his quasi part was sick, but I only bought this stuff cause the size and shape.

Basically riding this same set up, even down to the shoes, but on Ace 55s instead.

The boxy shape feels nice as I've been learning to ride pools/transition.

I know it..I threw all my favorite measurements out the window for this one. I am banking on those dimensions were designed because the lack of nose length or something. Its definitely the biggest wheelbase I have ever skated before too. We will see!

hows the 8.5 with 55’s?

Honestly, it's nice. I don't really feel any hinderance when turning (my other setup has 44s on it). It's a touch harder to flip, but I don't really flip my board anyways, so it doesn't really bother me.

It blows. Although in this instance it's my fault for leaving it somewhere it could easily get snatched. Still a huge bummer though.

Set up an 8.25 to see what I think to skating a "wide" deck.

Girl 93 til Brophy 8.25"
Thunder lights 148
Spitfire bigheads 50mm
Bronson G2

Enjoying it sofar, much easier to catch tricks with my size 11s than on a 7.75. Might swap out the bigheads for some 50mm F4 classics I have kicking about, but I don't mind a slightly wider wheel.

the board tapers to an 8.1 at the tail so you dont really notice the smaller trucks
still debating on getting 5.6's or 149's tho

Red DoA Skypager 8.1 standard concave
FTC 5.8 ventures loose stock
Spitfire f4 classics 51mm
Jessup grip and swiss six

DOA star deck painted black...7.5 flat as fuck, been on this shape most of the year.
Venture 5.2 high was rocking 5.0 lows for most of the year. Felt great and might go back to them. Lows have a better looking hanger.
Chocolate 51 mm wheels.  Took a while to break
Jessup grip and swiss 6

Af1 96 snake, superstars and dunks are my go to.
