Trying out an egg because I had some other parts lying around that I thought might work with it. Pretty darn weird setup overall but I just tried it out and it’s still pretty fun.

Quasi 9” (at widest point, although the stamp on top said 8.878 or something like that. But it measured 9” when I got the tape measure out)

Listed as 13.75” wb but I haven’t measured that. It definitely feels like a small wb, this thing really hooks the turns

Indy hollow 149

F4 99a 53mm classics

Fake bones Swiss (better than I expected tbh)

Santa Cruz slimline rails (didn’t realize they had a sort of angled top… I think I put them on technically “backwards”?)

Sheet of Jessup that had some wrinkles creased in it so I tried to around them… could be worse

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

mantap setup ni.. i hv this board setup with 149thunder titaniums and 56mm triclops. pretty nimble egg. yeah, i also measured it and got 9". wheelbase is spot on 13.75". the shape is almost symmetrical. shud hv bought 2 of these.

Rewatched too many Love Letters and 80s skate videos and decided to go back to small nose big tail with 169s. Turning my big nose small tail board into a cruiser.

Left:
- Zmorgf Spade 9.5" x 32.5" with 14 - 14.5" adjustable wheelbase
- Thunder 161 Hollow Lights with Thunder 90a white aftermarket bushings
- Powell Peralta 56mm 85a G-Slides (caliper says they're actually 55mm)
- Bronson G3s with spacers
- Real Thunder Wooden Riser Pads 1/8"
- 1" hardware
- MOB

Right:
- Zmorgf Landboat II 9.6" with 14 - 14.5" adjustable wheelbase (Landboat shape that I scaled down a bit). I forgot the length
- USA Indy 169s with aftermarket Indy 92a conical blue bushings
- Powerflex 56mm 83b/55d Gumball wheels (Dual duormeter. Urethane is 83b while the core is 55d. Caliper says they're actually 55.5mm)
- Bones Swiss with spacers
- MOB
- 1" Diamond hardware

Haven't skated without rails in forever. These Powerflex wheels should be interesting to ride, although they are skinnier than I thought they'd be.
[close]
These are sick

How are the G Slides?
[close]

Thank you  :)

Haven't had the chance to skate this specific set yet, but I've had a couple pairs before. They're really great, doesn't feel too different from softer wheels in terms of roll but they're decently comfortable to slide. Wide like OJ Super Juices but the shape is symmetrical which I like much better. IIRC they don't crack from stuff like slappies which is a huge plus for me.

i think i need to try those symmetrical G-slides..85a is perfect for our rough roads.

Hockey Nik Stain
8.44, not shaped like normal FA/Hockey boards
14.19wb
54mm FF conical fulls
ace 44 trucks
bones swiss
jessup grip

i ordered Ace AF1 55’s but i couldn’t wait to skate this one so i’ll throw them on once they arrive.

[close]

So curious about that shape. almost ordered it but chickened out and got the regular fa/hockey 8.5 instead.
are the kicks same steepness as other fa/hockey decks?

just had my first session with it, i normally ride 8.38 FA boards imo it felt the same as others in the past. was able to do alot of my tricks with ease. always loved the steep concave. the shape was akin to the sci-fi fantasy i skated earlier this year. looking forward to skating with this a bit more.

To me, classics have a bit of trouble with staying locked into rough ledges/curbs, and conicals feel bulkier and harder to tip for things like treflips once they get worn down a few mm and the wheel gets more of a hard edge. Radials meet in the middle with a square profile for locking in but a rounded edge for more nimble flips and such. Plus I like the way they look.

I've mostly been running radial slims. If you've tried them, how much bigger are the radials? Or how do they compare to normal conicals? I feel the same about classics and conical fulls. I've seen the diagrams, but wanted to know from a user experience POV.

I've had some 53mm F4 radial slims and I felt that they gave the same benefits in terms of lock-in as the normal radials, maybe slightly better since the narrower profile gives more truck space, but I prefer the wider surface of the normal radials for grip purposes. Never tried normal conicals so I can't speak on those.

I understand why you took your shoes off for the photo. Photo looks so rad. What kind are they?

Black wheels are making a comeback huh. I have a brand new set of Bones 52mm from last time this happened but I couldn’t do it. Felt so weird.

Radials are the ideal shape.  They have all the hold of conicals with the ease of entry/exit of classics.  I'm a die hard believer in the shape.  Unfortunately they can be hard to find.

Sounds good but they're a bit wide aren't they? The same width as conical fulls I think.
I did really like radial slims when they existed though.

Not sure if you're asking about my absent shoes or my socks. Shoes are some light blue Vans Chimas and idk about my socks my girlfriend gave them to me for valentines day. :)

Wanted to get black wheels after I saw Frankie Decker skating them in a Frog vid. My girlfriend also got the wheels for me so I'm living like a king I guess.

Ended up setting up a completely unnecessary Christmas complete:

Glue 8.00” (14” wheelbase)
Venture 5.6’s with Riptides and flat top washers
Conical full 99a 53mm
Bearings
Hardware
Mob

Smallest deck I’ve skated since 2006…

Never tried the slims but I prefer wide wheels.  I like the smoother ride and flat spot resistance of a wider wheel.  Also and I don't know why but wider wheels seems to have less aggressive wheel bite.

Weird color Radials are still kinda everywhere online branded under Skate Like a Girl. Pink, Teal and maybe natural? I bought a few sets of pink 54s on sale for the hoard recently but I'm pretty butch so I can get away with it.

No, not at all. You have to put way more effort in than if you had like 8.25 with 54mm rounded classic shape wheels. I think that the big wheels would have made treflips harder to learn for me since I have to really get on the edge of the tail for them. I just love how the catch feels on boards with bigger wheels, plus i'm from an area with abysmal concrete

Newest freshie in my collection
917 slick, 8.5, 14.18 (i think? I measured it).
Indy 149s w medium hards
Spit 53mm conical fulls, probably 51 atm
Really loving this board. It's short and the kicks are steep, without being super full. Nollie back 3s and mannying pads are nothing on it, it's real light and spinny

it actually works pretty well man. you should try a big wheel setup on ace's if you got em ;)
