Sorry I've been sleeping on the thread but I gotta say I love this setup!!
I'm straight up addicted to the Couch shape, have had 4 in a row now...my only complaint is that they need more graphics available but we'll done on this setup!

I was dreading this day but it had to come eventually and it was time to rip the bandaid off.  After seven lovely months on my 169s it’s about time to start breaking in a new set of trucks.

Chocolate couch
Indy Hollow 159s
55mm F4 classics
Swiss
Mob
hardware
Last Resort VM001 canvas highs

Shoutout to @Ronnie Rodriguez for the broken-in Indy bushings

I’ve really enjoyed skating this one.  Almost makes me wish I would’ve stocked up on couches instead of some of the other shaped boards I have to skate through this summer.  Agreed with the graphics - I was hoping for this one in the purple stain (orange isn’t bad though) but I’m not a fan of most of the graphics.  Especially the Girl ones.  If they put out one for Breana with more of a horror-influenced vibe I’d be into that…

Grimple 8.4, deviating from the usual dlx 8.5 14.25 shape but so far I like it
Venture 5.8 (cast plates, titanium hanger, clear supercush bushings, flat top washer)
Spitfire f4 52mm 99a og classics
Swiss
[close]

Is it a true 8.4? Or is it slightly off like the 8.5 and 8.38?
[close]

I don't have a measuring tape on me. But I think the 8.5 14.25 navy eagle dlx shape is actually 8.5 at the widest point, just most of it is closer to 8.38. This 8.4 feels pretty consistent throughout so I'm guessing its a true 8.4, which lets be real, is pretty much indistinguishable from an 8.38.

Overall impressions is that it is a hair longer, I think the wheelbase is a true 14.25 as opposed to the navy eagle shape is more of a 14.2ish. Feels a little more pencil-ish and less chodey than the 8.5 but they're very similar.

Only one session in so verdict is still out, but its good so far. If they had this shape but in a true 8.5 width I'd be very very very happy.

Sick thanks for sharing!

Sick thanks for the info.

When I went up from the 8.12 black eagle, this was the perfect upgrade, way better than the blue eagle (which tapers down to the tail) and I had a couple of these before moving to a longer wheelbase.  The 8.4 width is the same right through and not at all pointy, really good nose and tail, 32 long and 14.25 wb was just right for my all rounder board.

I still have a couple as backups and there is usually one or more every other catalog drop from DLX, more often recently on AH though.

Well worth it, if you were thinking something around that size and shape and length.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

I didn't mind the taper down to the tail on the navy eagle at all. And I think I slightly prefer the width on that one, but the length and wheelbase on this one is definitely a bit better though makes a few things a lot more comfortable, both great shapes, but wish dlx made a true 8.5 32 14.25

AWS 8.75
Venture cast 6.1
55mm F4 tablets
Modus bearings
Shop grip

Love the shape but not the biggest fan of the  AWS “spectrum” graphic so got rid of it and painted some pink stripes. Feels good to be back on a fuller board with a small wb after skating consecutive eagles.

Was a bit nervous coming off of well worn in classics, but the pinch with these tablets is great.

Keeping the tip of the nose bare keeps my thumb from getting scratched up while throwing down, and backing the grip off the toe side edge minimizes how much grip I have to cut.
