I almost always do a "ghetto stripe" but now i'm feeling the peer pressure to do one of these thin stripes

Hated this one pretty much from the moment I stepped on it. Got the Hazard wheels on a sale-on-sale so they were only like $12 and I figured it was worth a shot, but they were awful. They had that plasticy, super-white look that I think some Bones formulas have, and I hate the way they feel/ride. Makes the wood feel dead.
Black Label Adams 'sonic reducer' 8.68x32.63
Ace AF1 Lows 60
Hazard conical 50mm
Quantums
Shortys Lights 7/8 allen
Pepper grip

Easy decision to swap out the deck and wheels for this one:
Girl Brophy 8.6 G056
Spitfire F4 50mm lil smokies tablets from Chico
Everything else the same, and I said I was gonna do a thin stripe and by golly i did it!

The concave is pretty middle of the road, the tail feels a little flat initially but haven’t had a real session on it yet to get a real feel.

Limosine 8.5 Hugo board
Indy 149s
Spitfire F4 conical fulls 54mm
Bones hardware maybe
Bones Reds

Had a fun session on it. Definitely not an FA/Hockey shape but I like the traditional scrape board feel.

I like them, I bought them on a whim after seeing a video showing how to do it show up on my Instagram feed. I’m able to keep them dialed to the right tightness for me without constant adjusting. If the poor kingpin clearance on thunders stresses you out like it did me, it’s a pretty cheap and easy modification.

Forgot to make the picture before skating it...

Polar 9" WB 14.5 Aaron Herrington
Ace AF-1 66 w/ Bones Bushings Hard & 1/8 Risers
Spitfire Tablets 55mm 99A
Bronsons G3
Miles Griptate

First time trying Miles and I hated it since minute 1, the griptape feels too smooth coming from MOB. (Got it for cheap)

I was always curious about Miles, and now I know not to get it.

Coming from MOB, the only other brand I seem to enjoy is Pepper. And I only tried Pepper because my local was out of MOB when I bought a board.

I'm currently out with Covid and decided to spoil myself with an early birthday complete. Might be some time till I'm ready to take it to the streets, but boy do I look forward to that first session back.

Real Ishod 8.5 TT
Venture 5.8 Hollows, purple stock bushings
Dial Tone Jahmal Williams 54mm conicals
Quantum Isotopes
Shop grip
Misc. hardware

I've been experimenting with different wheelbases to see where my sweet spot is. Thus far I couldn't really feel any differences, so I intentionally created a setup with an almost comically long effective wheelbase (17.91"). At some point wheelbase has to affect my skating, maybe this is it.

Also I simply wanted to get some Ventures again after riding them exclusively in the early/mid 2000s. If I dislike the combination, I'll put Aces on this deck and use the Ventures on a deck with a shorter wheelbase.

Dial Tone wheels because Jahmal is the man, plus I like to buy "different" wheels for now. I was out of touch with skating for almost 2 decades, so I didn't experience the ascent of Spitfires as the undisputed top wheels, and haven't skated any F4s since coming back yet. I'm trying to spread the wealth between some of the smaller companies I dig before inevitably trying some F4s and presumably never going back.

My first set of Quantums. They look and feel great right out of the box, I have really high hopes that I've found my forever bearings.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk about my wooden toy and its parts.

Back when the Pandy first hit, I caught a bad case of panic buying & have been making my way out from beneath this sweet, sweet, stack of wood ever since.
This one’s been in the closet, on top of the stack, all gripped up & waiting for an excuse to be ridden.
Lucky day for both of us, I reckon.

Will do. This is a III. I rode a BBS dreamer shape III before and would say the concave seems pretty comparable. I'll let you know how it actually handles once I get back out there.

Sci-Fi Fantasy 8.25
Thunder Ishods 148 (like team hollows?)
Spitfire F4 classic 53mm 99a
Swiss 6
Jessup

Unintentionally matched this setup pretty well, the black wheels and baseplate + the red bushings really fits well. Love the look of it.
