7.75 Prime blank
Stage 9 Indy 139 w Krux IKPs
51mm 99a Spitfire classics
Black Magic.

Haven’t rode a deck this size since I started skating in 99. Got inspired from the 7.75 thread. Everything sans the wheels was my first setup, call me nostalgic.

Impressed with Prime’s blanks. Three colored veneers look like candy. Thought it was gonna be a pink bottom stain, universe treated me with Orange.

Ok

Krooked Gonz True-Fit 8.06 x 31.3, 13.88wb

5.2 Venture His (I think)

56mm Bones x97 V6

Have this same graphic and shape. I am really like the graphic, not sold on the board.
Hopefully you like it!

I'm a short motherfucker. Makes me feel like I'm not riding a longboard for once in my life. It's gonna be this shape and 14wb 31.5" unless I hit a mad late growth spurt.

I wanted to try to downsize a little bit to improve some tricks. I putted together all the stuff that I have around before spending money on a decent board and a new pair of Aces.

-Plan B 8.75 14.25WB (Free deck 😅)
-Venture 6,1 with Bones hard bushings w/o top washer.
-Spitfire F4 classics 54mm 97A
-Indy GP-B bearings
-MOB

I’ve wanted to try a prime board, hoping that it’d be closer to the old world industries boards.
What’s your take on the deck?

Freshie and first session since dislocating my elbow.

Chicostix 9" Big Boy shape
Thunder 151 Team hollow (stock bushings taken from an older pair)
53mm Conical Full 53mm 101a F4s
Old bones Swiss 6.

First time on Thunders in some time and these feel amazing. Feel turnier than my last set for some reason. Might just be the 14" wheelbase. Curious to try these on the Huffer shape that I usually skate.

Nah? It’s a water slide decal, which don’t usually hold up. I lacquered the heck out of this time, in hopes that’ll not immediately go to shit.

Sour 8.1 14 .2 wb , unknown grip. It was a hand-me-downs.
Indy mid 144 with the weird kingpin, stock
Shortys bolts.
F4s classics 51mm with swiss 6.  This board holds up fucking beautifully. The concave reminds me of og arcade boards. Its so weird but cool.

Paisley slick 8.75 14.5 wb with Black Magic grip.
Thunder 151s the older ones that dont have that weird brush on the hanger. Stock bushings but riptide pivot cups.
Spitfire Bigheads (favorite wheel) 51mm. swiss 6.
Board feels nice, flexy and it's holding up as well compared to other psstix i had.

Superstar and Adidas Pro models are on rotation right now.

I'm an Ace guy through and through. Imagine getting use to the squirrelieness of that board on Ace's

Took awhile but I fell in love

IDK maybe the Ace's mellowed it out compared to Thunders

This makes me want a sour, and bigheads. Swiss six are the undeniable best and I’m still bummed I bought some shall not be named bearings, instead of the Swiss 6 (bearing shade aside, the said bearings are decent, truly, but not Swiss).

In the most horny voice: tell me
More about this sour concave, and the virtues of the bigheads. Please.

The last few boards I’ve skated had: f4 52 conical full 101s, f4 now 52 ish 99 tablets, and f4 56 97 classics.
I want to try the classic formula. But. I also really like the 52 101s. Which would be the opposite. My mind is a pile of shit

The concave on the Sour is pretty good. Its flat but has the dips right before the nose and tail. Nose and tail are more on the mellow side.  The fingers on flat are ok as well.

As for the wheels. Bigheads have that donut shape and a wider riding surface. Its like a chubby classic. I love it. Only downside is they only make em on Spits regular urethane, no F4s. I kinda like the regular urethane though. But F4s are superior. (Bigheads on top and classics at the bottom, both 51mm])

Excellent thank you.

The dips, the bends, whatever that shit is (fuckin bbs has the most extreme version of it), I hate it. I’m sure it adds strength and longevity. Whatever. Looks dumb. Flat boards are better. For me.
I’ll look for one in person, thanks for the pics.

The bigheads look like they might be great for me. A fatter classic, in smaller sizes…great. I’m sure this is very uncool, but I just don’t love wheels bigger than 52s. I’ll try. Might be ok for a bit, and if all of the other factors in a setup conspire to agree, it’ll be decent, but damn…I’m just such a baby about the weight of big wheels.
I don’t see shops stocking the classic urethane formula. Guess it’ll have to be by order.

Please.

Don't the Big Heads come out as Classic Fulls on F4 sometime or do I have that wrong?

Yes, Bigheads are pretty much the OG wider round shape that was almost the same as the Classic Full shape.  Some slight differences but not much, but that was the main shape of all the Spitfire wheels back when I used to ride the 56 to 59 mm sizes a lot.

Comparing sets of Formula Four Classic Full to the originals, they are the same in 56 mm but the Bigheads are a bit wider in smaller sizes.

I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

I’ve wanted to try a prime board, hoping that it’d be closer to the old world industries boards.
What’s your take on the deck?

Personally I really like it. I had one of their shapes that was similar to a Dane1 and that too was snappy.

Nothing sticks out about the mold. Nothing too steep, definitely not flat. Very snappy and the price is chill.

SoCal has plenty of em. Not sure why Prime wood doesn’t get as much talk as the other wood shops. The description on SoCal says the wood is sourced from Michigan which as resident I fully back.
