right now i have stage 10 149s and i wanna use them for a cruiser and get either hollow 149 indys or ace trucks for my regular setup.  someone sway me in either direction

I really like my Aces, but I understand that the look isn't for everyone. They're really skinny looking. And the stock bushings have, at least in the past, fallen apart pretty quickly. But no matter which pair you buy you should equip them with Bones bushings, so that doesn't really matter. Aces might also feel a bit more loose than Indys (which is good), but I haven't actually tried Indy stage10s, so I don't know why I'm even writing this ... anyway, bottom line, Aces are good.
take what small comfort there may be left

About to go skate this.

Magenta 7.875. The shape is perfect.

Thunder Hollow Lights Hi 145's. I was so over the way Ventures turn and I wanted thinner trucks. It also worked out cheaper to buy these and have them shipped to my country from the US than to buy standard Thunders in this country.

50mm STF

Magenta are rad.

The shape of this board is so awesome. And my god, switching to Thunders was one of the best changes I have ever made. They turn so fucking good. And I really like how they make your wheelbase smaller and your turning more responsive.

I guess alot of people think hollow trucks are a gimmick and they probably wouldn't make much difference. Hell, I only got them because of how cheap it worked out. But they are fucking great. They weight difference is really noticeable, they make flips and skating higher stuff so much easier and I could skate longer before I got tired. Fully back these things.

Edit:
I also did that thing where you put two washers on the inside of each wheel. It made the wheels fit a little better on the slightly wider board and it protects the tips of the axle more.

I've got the ace 44's and he's right they are really good but they stay loose. My stock bushings broke in half after a month, but I've been using yellow doh dohs and they feel great. My friend tried ace but hated them because they wouldn't stay tight enough for him. He's back to indy's with black doh dohs.

People use doh-doh's? I bought one set to try them out and ended up giving them away after a week.
Look I'm not selling anything that doesn't have my jizz on it. I don't care how much is offered.

Never tried khiro or anything else really, but bones makes a damn fine bushing.
No reason for me to try anything else.
Never had the smashing issue most have.

So how many of you pop off your bearing covers?

I popped mine off about 2 weeks ago on my swiss, and a couple wheels don't spin much anymore.  I guess it's time to buy another set and leave them on.  I don't see how people always do it, and don't have issues.

Just keep skating them, trust me. Give it another week or so and they'll be spinning like brand new. Whenever i pop the shields off a set of new bearings they usually get slow as fuck right away, but as you keep skating they wear back in.

If you are Italian you can easly get one from Playwood distribution, I think in US Theories of Atlantis have them and Autumn used too. I really really like them, skated 3 in a row without any complain!

That is woodgrain in the dark brown areas?  Nice touch, if so.

FUCK DOH DOH's! I usually don't feel strong about a certain type of board, trucks, or whatever but my hatred for doh doh's is strong!
