The pain I have to get thru to get a Full SE board...
Luckly, I dont care too much about graphics, but I do prefer a nice looking board ofc

But man are they worth it, I’ve had about 5 full se boards and I liked every one. I think now they are getting slightly easier to come by thankfully

8.25 DOA Chambers standard shape
Theeve 5.5 Ti-Hanger
Jivaro 53mm conicals
Modus 7 bearings
Black Magic grip

Haven't skated a standard shape DOA for quite a while and I liked it but wasn't completely into it last time (tail was a little steep for my liking) so I'm interested to see if how I find it this time around. Also snagged a couple other decks and an awesome longsleeve. DOA seems to always have cool shit and this spring line is no exception.

I see you're back on theeves. Just for this deck or are you not feeling the Film trucks anymore?

I have the films on my WKND deck and it's a great pairing so I didn't want to move them. I actually didn't really like how this setup felt on theeves so I already took them off. Gonna try something lower (probably mini logo, or forged thunders) and see if that feels more comfortable for me.

I don't know for sure, I just kinda snag old ones from the shop as mine crumble. I think I have krux and indy top bushings with ace bottom bushings but I am probably wrong. Breaking in new bushings almost makes me wanna quit skating.

F4 classics. I like having a solid colored board, but I also like skating boards from actual companies. That’s why I’ll spraypaint a lot of them. I’ve spent over 10 years clowning on Dwindle, but the quality has gotten a lot better. They’re stiffer, last longer, and the shapes are a lot better than they used to be

Anyone know if Toy Machine bigger sizes are fat nosed like Quasi esque? They make an 8.38 with the same length and wb dims as the habitat shape I love but might be more available

Tumyeto has a couple different shapes they use, so it depends on the deck. Generally speaking though, most of the TM decks I've owned or looked at in the shop are mellow concave and full shaped (like a lot of PS boards) so the kicks don't taper much and stay pretty fat. The one thing that's a little different is that they're rounder and more of a classic popsicle shape than quasi and some of the other modern PS decks (quasi, scumco, wknd, snack etc) I have.

The biggest Tumyeto deck I have is an 8.5 foundation though, so I have no insight into the truly man sized decks.

I haven't been skating much, even before the corona virus situation and given that there might be more spare time to try and skate than usual (and potentially better weather), I felt like revisiting some of the gear I've bought over the past year or so. I usually skate 8.5's and a fuller wheel shape, but I want to focus on getting some good flatground skating back in and thought sizing a few things down might help.

8.25 ScumCo Brian Downey
Venture 5.8 V-Lights, flat washer on top (previously on Ace 44s, love them, but I like the stability of Ventures)

Rolled around yesterday and everything felt nice, so we'll see how this goes!

Yeah it's a good one. I skated it a bit, then it went on the wall for a bit, and then back into the pile and now under my feet haha. I wanted the one you ended up getting but never pulled the trigger, that was a sick graphic as well.

How is the Mini Logo stuff? I was going to give one of their decks a try, they advertise a pretty mellow concave. ✌️

Thats interesting, I did the exact same thing. I agree the Ventures pair much nicer with it.

I think it’s because the Pennswood standard concave decks (this Scumco is one) have more fingers of flat between the trucks and the kick, so when I had Aces on it it felt hard to pop, like it wasn’t sticking to my feet enough for what I like to do (though it was easier to control manuals). The ventures spread the wheelbase out more, which felt better for my pop. Thunders felt good too.

I’ve used Indy’s on wider (8.5) of the same concave/shape which felt fine, but that’s because the wheelbase was drilled 1/4 inch longer on the decks I rode. Aces still felt a bit off on those.

Nice sticker job, how do you get the Spitfire head to match the curve of the deck? Measure and pre-cut it with a blade?
