Saw JK recently restocked some decks so figured I'd splurged for my birthday!

Hook Ups 8 x 31.75 x 14 wb
Indy 139s
Hook Ups 54mm 99a
Shake Junt triple ogs bearings, figgy grip and 7/8 hardware.
Emerica Romero Laced

Really like tapered shape of this deck and the mellow kicks and concave. I think I'm gonna be riding HKs for as long as I possibly can from now on.
[close]

the coordination of colors is great on this setup. haven’t had a hook ups board in 15+ years. need to change that soon. +1
[close]

Haha thanks it's totally on accident. But I'd def recommend the HKs. Good BBS wood and shape if you like tapered and mellow kicks. And like I said he just restocked a bunch this week on his shop.
[close]

Everything about this looks good even Jeremy Klein's suspect anime graphics
I wonder if hook ups got distribution in Australia haven't seen one in years & years

Funily enough the last time I saw a hookups board was in Australia, since then I moved back to England and now over to Denmark but Melbourne is the only place I have personally seen a hookups deck in the last decade or so.

I'm normally against vibing and the like but Idk anymore with these perved out anime kids. Now I think we need to go back to robbing kids boards at gunpoint if they show up to the spot. Wheres young Stevi

That’s a good one Cinci. Really nice.

EDIT: and Xen, nice ride. I tried those Tensor mag lites too awhile back and really liked them. I couldn’t quite get them to turn as I liked but still really underrated, all things considered.

AH Raney 8.12” x 31.38” 14” WB III on the press
Thunder 147 with black Indy bushings
Spitfire F4 classic 53mm 99du
Reds
Mob M80

Stoked to try out a new shape. Been on the 8.28” x 31.7” 14.12” WB kick for about a year. Stoked to support Raney as well. Can’t bring myself to try something other than BBS.
[close]

By any chance have you actually measured this bored? Id love to try their 8.18 boards but 31.38 just seems way too short for me
[close]
Just measured mine, true to size

Ditto, measures as advertised
[close]

I think it was last season, but krooked had a board on this shape. And I missed it. Julien used to have his deck released on this shape sometimes, but I dunno if that was just the rotation or if he actually skated that size.
I like short boards, but I am short. My first skateboards were also 80s boards that were never 32” long.
Anyways, how ya’ll liking this?
[close]

Today was the first day I was able to skate it. I love it. Just skating flat ground though. I could see it being a little squirrelly on transition. First 14” wheelbase I have ever skated and I’m sold on it. I’m short though. I could see a taller person hating this.
Are these forged or team baseplates?

I'm surprised you still use Ace after all the complaints you've had about them...?

Rad set up though. I've had two BBs with 44s.

Just came back from my first session on this bad boy:

- Primitive Villani football shape 9.125 x 32.187 WB: 14.25
- Jessup
- SJ 1" allen
- Venture 6.1 Kader
- F4 99 conical full 53mm (can't believe I'm liking black wheels)
- Big balls
Can't believe how fun and functional this setup is. I can see why Franky loves it so much.

I’ll always criticize them for their horrible QC but doesn’t mean I still can’t be addicted to the turn. Nothing turns like them. Nothing. I always come back.

I’m probably off here, but didn’t you mention that you had some ICE indy/ace hybrid, with the ace baseplate/Indy hanger? And wasn’t one of your main qc beefs with ace the hangers? What happened to your hybrid?

I completely agree that ACE has the best turn. I also have seen their pretty consistent qc issues. None of the qc issues ever stopped me from skating them, nothing was THAT bad, for me. Nothing totally broke, again just my experience. I hated when indys use to slip and I stopped skating them way back when because of that and then a bad run with some breakage/bent axles. Anyways, wish ACE was a little more together, but still very satisfied.

I want those vans so bad. but I need 2 pairs so I can skate in one and chill in one. love leopard print.
This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Skateboarding is nothing but a game to find the right fits to appear like you're a proportional human being instead of a midget or a giant.

So sick! I just picked up this deck.

I went against my post in the 'brands you'll never buy' and nabbed this deck when I saw the dimensions online (8.2 under 32") plus Puig rips; question, the site stats say 14.125" for the WB, did you measure it at 8.25? (which I'd prefer anyway). Slapping some 5.6 TI ventures on it when it arrives.

Can you snap a top pic (DM me of you don't want to post it); curious to know how pointy it is. How's it feel?

Anti-Hero 8.28  14.125 wb
Indy 144 Titaniums with Bones hard bushings
Bones STF v1 53mm, probably 50mm by now
Bones Swiss
Mob Grip
7/8 hardware

Takes more effort doing flip tricks coming from an 8 on Thunder 147 hollow lights.
Noticeably more stable on grinds and overall, however I already have a Real 8.125 waiting to be skated next, hope it will be the best of both worlds.

Stoked for tomorrow.
I wasn't going to skate it but Im just only going to skate the nose and tail. Graphics will be fine. Still will look good on a wall

I switched my trucks around putting the back on the front. Hope it doesn't get me hurt.

I'm really happy with the shape of my wheels rn.

I need to re cut the axles soon. Not looking forward to wheel rotation

Nice, i got a Slave Zavala 8.25 waiting in the wings to be ridden at some point this summer

What's the length on it? I've been looking at buying a slave for a while but I've seen various lengths listed and I tend to try to stay below the 31.75 mark on my 8.25 decks.

I'm still sitting on that deck, rode it a handful of times, just couldn't vibe with it, much too short for me (5'10"); couldn't imagine riding that little wheelbase with Indy's tho!

If he doesn't want it I'll trade you something for it. That 8.28" x 31.7" 14.13"wb shape is probably my favorite or second favorite dlx shape (Kanfoush Yinzer shape is up there too, as is the 8.5 they used for the Kanfoush x Lance Mountain recolor), it's my favorite deck for venture highs and I love short decks despite being around the same height as you.

Is it true that AH Decks have always a steep concave?
- I always bought AH decks at skatedeluxe and thought they are 'medium', because in their description they are saying that they also have medium Decks.
