8x32 5Boro deck.
5.2 Venture Hi’s with white stock bushings
Older 53 F4 Classics which are about 50 now
Bones Swiss
Jessup

Lynx for today, but I have about 8 different pairs in rotation.

This flips like a dream..guaranteed : )
[close]

It does, even if it was so cold that the bushings were hard as rock and my ankles are barely functional.

I really like this set up so far, but it might be a while ‘til I get to skate it again seeing as we have a snow storm going on right now.
[close]

Whats the wheelbase on the 5boro? Love me some 8 x 32 x 14 with Venture forged.

Haven’t measured yet, but I’m pretty sure it’s 14 from what I read on the internet.

It’s much closer to 14 than my other South Central boards (8.12 and 8.25) which are around 14.25-14.3.

I grabbed one of those Captain Shanahan decks like 2 months ago. I love this thing, it’s probably my crispiest and nicest constructed BBS deck, it’s got 4 colored ply sheets in it. A little flatter concave too, but not too flat.

I barely skate it, right after I got it I went on some big board madness trip. I keep it at my parents crib and use it mostly for flat ground skating and learning new tech stuff. It’s extremely good for that. I’m there now using it for the holidays. Gonna skate it hard the next few days.

Unless something has changed very recently the olive eagle is an 8.38.

Oh yeah it is an 8.38 my mistake lol. Kinda weird that the 8.38 eagle has 14.5 wb and the 8.5 eagle has an 14.38 wb

Yeet.

Almost my exact regular ride, dimensions at least, but AH, Indy, Spitfire, Swiss, Jessup is such a good combo.

The 8.38 is a hair off 8.5 but has a slightly longer wheelbase and good sized kicks on a good shape, which means it is a winner for taller people (like me).

Oddly enough there were always more of these around, because people used to always go for the 8.5 and think that the 8.38 was too small.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

How tall are you? I'm 6 foot 3 and mainly skate ledges, curbs, manny pads, but 8.38 with a 14.5WB and 32.5 length seems fucking insanely big.

About the same height when I did the conversions of cms to inch / foot measurements, but I skate more transition and have found that the wider stance is easier.

I used to ride the AH black eagle 8.125 x 32 with 14.25 wheelbase for almost 15 years as well as having lots of different sized setups, then in the last few, more so the 8.5 x 31.8 with 14.25 wheelbase but found it too short, so the 8.5 x 32.25 with 14.38 was more comfortable, but I think I am becoming more lazy too, so don't do as much on street or tech tricks as I used to, which was why I never wanted to go up from the black eagle because I could throw it around so easily.

A couple of others I know all ride the same bigger board size and can still do everything street tech, flip, etc and have no issues with size on the 14.5 wheelbase, so it is just something I guess we got used to because there were a lot more available.

Does anyone have experience with he newer 8.75 Polar surf shape?  Mostly curious about how wide it is on the back bolts.  I've got some Venture 6.1's, Indy 149's, or Ace 44's I could use.  Just want to get a big ass cruiser.

Any other takes on their P shapes would be appreciated.

Quasi 8.0
Ace 33
F4 conicals 52mm

Trying out a Quasi for the first time. Had a quick flat ground sesh and it felt real good. The board got dinged up pretty quickly though relative to the last Krooked and Polar decks I rode.

I will preface this as I’ve never ridden the surf shape personally, but I know that Shin rides for ace and I believe he runs 44s on the surf shape because of taper. I’ve run ace on other polar shapes before and it was great. Definitely would recommend

I think the original Surf Shape was an 8.25, though.  The new one is listed at 8.75.  I should just pull the trigger and trust that between a set of 8.35, 8.5, and 8.75, something will work...

Indy 139 forged hollow w/bones mediums
Spitfire bighead 53mm

This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Skateboarding is nothing but a game to find the right fits to appear like you're a proportional human being instead of a midget or a giant.

I had the surf shape setup with 44s and 56mm conical fulls and rails. Some of the most fun I've had on a board tbh. Looks like Polar released two graphics for it this time. Might get the Hjalte one next.

I'm rocking an 8.75 Terror of Planet X. Similar shape and square nose. I'm liking it. Hope the Quasis feel just as good.
