I was on fb market place looking for a new pair of ventures and then found this board from the early 2000s for $60.

Deck: 7.75, idk what company, maybe a mini logo?

Trucks: grind kings, i don't know which ones but there the ones with the inverted kingpin so i knew i needed them.

Wheels: Quim Cardona wheels im guessing there 54mm and there my favorite type, swirl wheels, but idk what company they ar so if someone knows and could tell me that would be sick.

Bearings: Bronson g2s i put on after i bought it

Hardware: shortys hardware i also put on after i bought it

Grip tape: No clue

Wow really cool.

How does it skate ?

Very interested to hear about the gring kings

I haven't had much time on the board but from how it feels so far i love it. Im pretty sure the bushings have dried out because no mater how loose i make them there really tight but i have a pair of shortys doh doh bushings coming in so i wont have to deal with those forever. Id say how the trucks are for skating a ledge or something like that but im just recovering from an injury so i only wanted to skate flat.

Baker 8.5
Indy mids 149
Formula Four 97a 54mm
Bones Big Balls
Bronze hardware

Was skating a Sci Fi Fantasy 8.25 I picked up on a trip for a month before this so I spent most of my session getting used to the longer wheelbase. Feels great now though. Also threw some new indy hard conical bushings in my trucks after the bones hard ones I had got squished and kept coming rattly loose every session. Need to remember to only make one change at a time or my sessions are going to suck.

Was curious about the sci fi fantasy decks. Do you know who presses them? And also specs?

I read somewhere on here that they are BBS (looked exactly like ones I've had in the past too. The 8.25 had a 14.25 WB and was popsicle shaped

Yeah! Making the most of what you have!

Those Indy are most likely older, stage 8 or even 7 with a removable kingpin, because stage 9 never had six hole baseplates and most of the older ones just look so thick and solid throughout the hanger area too.  Compare to any of these from my other post:

https://www.slapmagazine.com/index.php?topic=97297.msg3516442#msg3516442

I am curious as to what stage they are now, more than anything.

Guessing they still skate well too?

Wanted to reduce the amount of money I spend on skateboarding so now I'm preferring local brands since foreign ones prices went up like crazy due to covid.
Sunrise boards are pretty good, Clutch I believe, but this particular one had a hideous graphic so I spray painted it.

Def bbs and from what I saw I'm guessing the same mold/shape everyone uses (mold 5? Anyone who's actually got a gen account know what it's called?) which would make the 8.25 specs 8.25 x 31.8 14.25wb 6.7ish tail 7ish nose medium concave and med-steep moderately spoony kicks.

my third Clutch blank in a row.  the last one I had did me pretty well.  i think it lasted well over a month, and I passed it on while it still had a little life left.  can't lie tough, kinda getting bored with the blanks.  ive got a couple Prime blanks to go through after this one, and I think I might start skating through some of my wall hangers after those run out.

Clutch blank 8.25

It's funny cause some others would always say I cut the grip too far in when it looked like that, but I saw their boards with grip scraps hanging off the sides and thought "What a mess that looked" but it is personal preference really.

That was a long time ago, but since working in skate shops and gripping 20+ boards a day, I got used to just doing it on the edge, normal -\ angle, so not too far in and not sticking out, so everyone was happy.

Some boards look really good with it cut in a fair way though - really makes a statement!

I route the grip with a screw driver the remove the excessive grip on the side. I don’t like any grip overhang as that gets frayed when you don’t land perfect

Been a long time since I've set up a new deck. Don't get to skate much and rarely break any of my gear. But the last two slams I had gave that deck a bad vibe, so I'm excited to set up something new for Spring.

8.25 Polar (the older 8.25 shape with the 14.25wb)
Thunder 149 (aftermarket blue bushings: 95a, I think)
F4 Radial Slims
Bones Swiss, Mob, Shortys

What do you normally ride, as in transition, parks, curbs, street, everything?

Some kids I skate with always trip out on my bigger boards like that, but when they realise how much fun they are, they never want to give it back.

I'm trying to find a nice 8.75/9" that ISN'T 32.5/33"+ long for some curb crushing. Wish the BLabels were shorter. I just can't do long boards.

I set up a Polar 1992 with Indy 159s and it works sweet for that.  It is 32" with a 14.25" wheelbase.  The shape reminds me of the G&S Mark Heintzman I skated back in the day, so I may be biased.

I think @144p had Heroin decks that were a reasonable length, not too long with a medium wheelbase.
