I have been riding this shop blank 8.38 twin much longer than usual. I set it up on 1 February and it has been in a pitiful state for quite some time but it still skated great. The longer I skated it the more anxious I got to set up a fresh board. Today I finally did it, tho.

Ishod 8.38 Twin (slick)
Indy Forged Hollow 144s (stock)
Spitfire Classics 52mm (down at around 50mm)
Quantum Fusions, today the fourth of those died on me (copped in January)
Miles
Bolts

So far the Ishod skates great and I don't feel it's too heavy despite the slick. Crazy what difference in pop the stiffness of a freshie makes. Got a fakie fs flip on it too.

why come?

Went to the pawnshop by my place today, and they had a mint condition Krooked cruiser board with Ace 66s and soft Pig 50s, for probably less than half what the setup would cost from the shop.  Was really tempted to buy it, but a) I don’t really cruise around town or skate enough bowls to justify it, and b) 50mm wheels on a massive board seems counterproductive.  It was so nice though and such a good deal.  Maybe I’ll wake up tomorrow and feel different.

From the Dreams thread

I went all VA on this one, I did't go true VA because I think he skates a really small board but it is all of his sponsors

Vincent Alvarez Love seat
Vincent Alvarez Royals 159
58mm SF conical fulls
girl 7/8 hardware
Bones Swiss. Not his sponsor but I believe he is on record saying he pays for them

I'll bet money that he has never ridden 58mm wheels

I have the 8.38 Krooked with the 14”WB and I’m loving it with some 5.8 Ventures. How are you like the short wheelbase with Aces? Love the setup!

Which krooked is that? That’s actually a perfect measurement for my liking. Any wheelbase 14.25” or under turns on such a fuckin dime with Ace’s, it’s addicting.

How did your Fusions die? I've got one of the first set and just lubed for the first time.

Bit of an impulse egg-speriment having never skated one before.

Ported over my thunder light 148s and 54mm spitfire 97a F4s from my spare setup, and they've gone on this Tired 8.65" egg. 14" wb.

Looks like it could be pretty fun, going to take it for a spin on my lunchbreak.

They start spinning unevenly. If you spin them on the axle they stop quickly. They make an annoying tweeting sound while skating and get slow. Cleaning/lubing doesn‘t help, it‘s mechanical.

Any DLX board with the Tru Fit size, which is 8.38 x 31.75 with 14" wb.

Currently there are a couple of Krooked decks, Style graphic team board and the Manderson shape has been changed to the Tru Fit size now, Eyeballs graphic.

I didn't want to put too many pics in here clogging up the thread, but these are the boards (even though the Manderson shows the old size):

Cute 8.25 ya got there! lol    I've measured 3 more of these 8.5's I've found in the wild and they were all 8.25's.

I remember people talking about sizing like with PS you measure straight across, with the BBS you measure with the curve.

Anyway, I have the misregistered eagle version of this deck and am curious. So I’ll measure it when I’m home from work.

Swapped out the Element a little early because for some reason the tail felt very short, even though it measures identical to this Polar and other previous BBS 8.6s I've had.
Polar Herrington 8.625 Something about this shape and dimensions just feels perfect to me. I've had a few of them recently and then I stray away, but whenever I come back it feels great.

You’re the one who bought it! LOL.

Thankfully my local had it in. It’s a fun shape! I just skated it today. It’s quick and zippy. I hope they keep making this shape.

Trevor Thompson WKND CT shape(8.25/14” WB)
Everything else the same from two weeks ago

Pawnshop dunk highs

I’m not always the biggest PS Stix fan, but a friend gave me this board and it has the right dimensions. Similar to the 8.28 DLX shape that I like. Lots of rocker too which I’m not sure if I like. If anything it’ll be something different for a few weeks

Edit:
That was short lived. Looks like I’ll try again tomorrow

Interesting. I knew they did that with the length, yeah why not the width too. Hmm, I've got a soft tape measure. I'll check mine with it as well.

Put together a twin nose board, was super fun on the first rip.

8.5 Chocolate (G096 shape, twin nose)
149 Mindys
54mm F4 Classics, 99a
Whatever grip was in the box
Shake Junt bolts (used the gold and green bolts on each nose for symmetry)
Wow sorry, didn't realise I was dealing with a sick cunt here

Had the same experience with the Element deck I rode a few months back, on paper it's 0.05" at 6.45", but the tapered tail made it feel way shorter.
