imgbb was down a week or two ago, so I just started using
https://postimages.org/
instead.

However, the last two images were from imgbb, so it currently works, and the site isn’t down.
thanks man, i have no idea then. I tried on my phone, ipad and pc. Not a big deal, all things considered

Quiver refresh

1. Red Curbs (RIP) shop deck 7.5”
Venture 5.0 low
NFG (RIP) teardrops originally 52 now approx 47
Reds
Tactics grip
Idk what hardware

2. Heated Wheel Egg idk what size I think it’s 9” at the widest
Venture 5.8 High
Spit lil smokies conical 50mm
Reds
Jessup
Idk what hardware

3. Krooked 8.75”
Indy 159 forged hollow
Spit big beatdowns originally 60mm probably like 59 or 58 now
Bones swiss
Jessup
Real 3 ply wood risers
Indy slayer collab 1” hardware

Those 5.8 highs had some venture low baseplates on them because i got the v8s for the baseplates and were using them on a different setup, after a session with the heated wheel board I thought it turned poorly so I changed the baseplate out with the original v8 baseplates, also changed the wheels to some smaller spitfire lil smokie classics that were originally 48mm but have shrunk a bit.

Op, you ok man? Being real here, you doin alright?

My dip into the 8.5 waters did not last long, back up to 8.75

Opera "rider stock" 8.75 x 32 - these are sold by TGM and is basically a standard Opera deck but with the mellow concave mold instead of the steeper medium concave mold. Spray painted over the horrible graphics.
Slappy low hollow 8.75s - giving these one more shot
Spitfire F4 99a lil smokies 50mm
Quantum Atoms
Acer titanium 7/8
Pepper grip

aaaand decided i really don't like the Slappys. Back to Ace AF1 Lows with hollow axle

Curious about both the Slappy and AF1 lows. Why do you prefer the Aces after trying both?

I’ve been on AF1 lows for a few years now, ever since they came out. I’m old, I like low trucks for the ease of the pop. But the AF1 lows do result in crazy wheelbite so I was interested in trying another low truck that came in 8.75 (I don’t like the Thunder wheel slide) hence I tried the Slappys. Everything I’ve read on here said that they are roughly the same height as AF1 lows (good), slightly wider wheelbase compared to AF1s (good), hollow to reduce the weight (good), etc etc
I wound up skating the Slappys for three sessions. I don’t know how but they were very difficult to hit wheelbite (great, solved that one AF1 problem!) but I wound up ghost popping all over the place, even after being acclimated to them. When I compared the axles end-to-end on a flat surface the Slappys are probably 1mm taller at most, but with the slightly different wheelbase factor I think it affected my “triangle of pop” or whatever more than expected. That’s the reason I’m ditching them.  Grind was fine, turn was good, pinch was ok…it’s the pop that got me
When I went back to the AF1s everything just felt right again

Pretty sure I'll be uploading a new photo tomorrow. You know how this goes. Not convinced at all with the board. Felt thicc just by touching it. I think they get the blanks in Germany.

That’s a nice one! Where can you get South Central blanks? Thanks

AWH is a distributor in the midwest near me. if you have a local there's a good chance they have an account with them. you can access their site and navigate to their blanks and see if your shop can throw it in the cart next time they place an order. average wheelbases. the wood doesn't seem quite as A grade as actual board brands I've purchased that went through south central to press and apply their graphics.

Tim tam maybe?

Could eat a whole pack sometimes.

Nice board shape too - same as the common 8.38 DLX and others, like Baker, DGK, etc.  Long wheelbase though, but it works well for some people.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Seconding the thanks for sharing what’s going on in your head with the AF1 lows VS Slappy Lows. I haven’t seen/heard a lot of talk about these trucks in general on or off Slap. The AF1 lows are especially interesting because they might be the lowest trucks on the market at 45mm??

Opera "rider stock" 8.75 x 32 - these are sold by TGM and is basically a standard Opera deck but with the mellow concave mold instead of the steeper medium concave mold. Spray painted over the horrible graphics.
Slappy low hollow 8.75s - giving these one more shot
Spitfire F4 99a lil smokies 50mm
Quantum Atoms
Acer titanium 7/8
Pepper grip

aaaand decided i really don't like the Slappys. Back to Ace AF1 Lows with hollow axle

Nice setup. I wish I could gnar ya.

Seconding the thanks for sharing what’s going on in your head with the AF1 lows VS Slappy Lows. I haven’t seen/heard a lot of talk about these trucks in general on or off Slap. The AF1 lows are especially interesting because they might be the lowest trucks on the market at 45mm??
Don’t quote me but I believe the AF1 Lows are clocking in at 49mm.
As the hangers are the same height across the AF1 line, the diff is all in the baseplate (if I recollect correct.)
A 10mm drop from the base plate alone would be, well… for me it’s crazy like.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me… You think you got me?

Fifty8mm

Venture low forged are the lowest.
No better low truck then venture but the axles only go to 8" unfortunately. I was exited for ace low but the wheelbase reduction fucks with my head. I feel/think the smaller wb on them and being low will make the pop too light.
