Great episode. I like when they bring people that are usually behind the scenes, they usually have more to say and have a good perspective on the world and skating.
Ian mentioned Mikey Alfred in the episode and it made me think of how much the industry needs more people like Michna and less Alfreds.

probably one of the most entertaining episodes to date. for sure worth a listen even if you are not a fan of the show. the vibe is reminding me a lot of artie's first appearance on stern. more than a few laugh out loud moments.

Totally thought this exact thing. Ian and Grant Yansura both poke fun at the industry pretty openly. Two of the best episodes due to that.

This was great - I’d love to see more interviews from skateboarding content creators - it gives a fresh perspective that, for better or for worse, is more relatable.

I’ve work with the Jenkem dudes now and again and it’s super low stress. They’re all cool, smart dudes down for dope shit.

Yes, but there are bills to be paid. Web hosting, buying computers, cameras, tools to do the jobs. Having an office space, I mean shit even if out of an apartment you have to pay rent there.

Goes back to what Roger was ranting about.

Otherwise just follow a tumblr or blog that is trying to do it in their spare time and compare the quality of content.

It would be cool, though if it was possible to somehow keep content and advertisement separate as is expected from news outlets (I know, I know lines have long been blurred on those as well). I mean freedom of speech is a nice thing you know.

Funding has to come from somewhere though. I do think Jenkem does a good job of being as unbiased as possible.

I did like towards the end of the episode where Ian said he had to get back to NY cause he was around too many dudes and getting friendly and wouldn't want to talk shit on them any more.
