Professional skateboarders will transition to other activities and be successfully sponsored/paid for it. Skateboarding will be something they do on Sundays as a side hobby.

Edit: I also think there will be other skaters starting their own business as skateboarding is too competitive and uncertain as a main source of income. like Tyshawn invested on the restaurant industry..You will see more of it.
