Cop video. Second-to-last guy has my favorite part, especially that last tail drop.

Speaking of Japan, anybody know what Maru or Roch Adler are you to?

That was some really proper street skating with great style!

You go Japan! (you still have a lot of cool spots in the east <3 )

I get  the love, and I get the hate.

First part was really sick, the montage was meh, and most of the rest of the vid was meh... but Yuto's part was dope and some other dudes had good clips.

Major issue with this is the song choice: Really up-beat energetic "BOOM" type of music, with often really SLOW and unexciting skating.

The contrast between song choice and skating was like opposites. Way off. That's what ruined parts for me. But like I said some shit was dope.

I thought this was sick as fuck. If you know anything about Japanese skating, you know it's not all FESN. Sick to see SB supporting the young dudes and the core there. Especially with how difficult it is to skate street in Tokyo with all the kick outs, I thought these dudes went hard at spots you don't normally see.

I get the complaints about the music I guess, but if you read the accompanying article on the SB site, the name wamono means like "authentically Japanese," so it makes sense they'd use traditional instrumentation in the first Japan team video. Given the concept, I thought the contrast between the traditional instrument and the beats sampling the traditional instruments was rad even if it was a little jarring.

I fucking loved this video. Might be biased because I tend to lean more towards my Japanese heritage, but all of this and the music got me so stoked.
Also, yeah, it’s not FESN. Every region is going to have different skaters and different approaches. Much like the difference in East and west coast skating in the US. It’s all relative to your taste, but these guys are killing it and it’s awesome to see them getting major coverage.

Also just found out that Tokyo Ghetto Shamisen who did the music has worked with FESN before. And the beats were produced by the DJ for famous Japanese rapper Shing02. Rad way to pay tribute to Japanese skateboarding tradition and artists.

can we please talk about how beautiful (and gnarly?) this sw bs bigspin in a line at 00:38 was?

Like i always appreciate anybody doing this trick anywhere becuz its fuckin rare, but the motion here is just so fluid.

i know nearly all fkin videos but this particular one sw bs bigspin was just so powerful yet so graceful. One of the most underrated tricks in my book. Loved the whole vid tho, japan skating has so much style and potential!
