Awesome. Pete is the first pro skate photographer I met. He was shooting Dan Murphy fakie frontside flip this loading dock bump in Chapel Hill, NC.
I'd never seen someone show up to a spot and walk the perimeter of the whole thing to scope out the angle. He set up his flashes, got Dan to stand in front of the spot, and took a test focus shot that spit out a polaroid.
Then Dan did the trick and Pete nailed the photo 2nd take. What was unique about the photo, or the other photos he shot on that day, were he was setting the exposure so low and using the flashes to light everything up. It was a cool vignetting effect.
Anyways, I had complete forgot about this moment until now.
Looking forward to the book. Always appreciate seeing people who spent most of their early photo lives learning to shoot on film.
