Copenhagen / Malmo
« on: February 20, 2020, 05:55:21 AM »
Does CPH Open not announce their dates to the public? I will be out there in mid June and obviously would be stoked if it was coincidentally happening at the same time.

Any advice or links to Copenhagen or Malmo specific skate sites? Thanks in advance!

Copenhagen > Malmo.

Sweden has Mormon like alcohol laws but I guess if you don't drink that's not an issue. Still, Copenhagen is a capital and has a lot more going on. They're both great for skateboarding but Copenhagen is better for everything not skateboarding.

agreed but malmo is still nice. i liked the smaller feel of it. also don't worry about finding skate spots. they're everywhere.

Sonic send me a PM. I moved to CPH a year ago and working in a skate shop in the city. Super happy to answer any questions you have etc!

Here are some of the skate spots that pops up a lot in films from Denmark

Israels Plads - has a shit ton of fun ledges

Jarmers Plads (close to the above, and a very popular ledge spot)

Superkilen - so it as big architectural project in Nørrebro from 2012 (I think) - it has a shit load of wonderful spots! This is where I like to go :) It also has a very relaxed skate park, which I prefer over the big one in Fælledparken

SEB spot - I have never really visited it, but it is really popular - bank to ledge spots, and the possibility to go big. It is also really close to the canal, and there are often sunny house music and cold wine going on :)

That's something to begin with, at least :)

And I think that CPH Open has tried to focus more on keeping it a local party (instead of one of the biggest events in Europe). I recommend to follow them on instagram, and also some of the people that are associated with them, like the musician Pato Siebenhaar - that was where I found most stuff last year. I think it is usually the week before Roskilde Festival, which would make it the last week of June, but I am not completely sure.

I would add the Christiania ramp to Rasmus' spot list, it's worth a visit even if you're not so into the tranny. Easy to find, just go to Christiania, the ramp is in a building next to the main entrance.
