Your feet are fatter. Watch a movie from 1968. You are fucking fat.
I bought some es accel reissues and that is definitely the case. I have narrow feet and they feel snug--almost too tight.
Alex Olson never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
I’ve noticed pants waists are fitting a little snugger than they used to. The inseam doesn’t seem to have changed at all though.

[close]Lol, chuckled at that one...Interesting to hear others are noticing it too. I appreciate the devil's advocate comments and fully agree that your feet can get wider as you age but this doesn't change the fact the actual measurements and construction of the shoes have changed.I was never a sneaker head so my glossary of shoe terms is idiotic but I noticed most shoes do not have that side stitch near the toe cap that is part of the shoe with the lace holes. Old design:Modern:It seems like all brands are designing most shoes with that modern look and I'm wondering if that's why the shoes are running narrower? Again I don't know shit about shoe design so I'll call it a more flush look without extra stitching and construction, but it seems all shoe brands are designing the shoes like this.
