Heath Kirchart in This is Skateboarding is the definitive one.

This is kinda pushing it, cause it's not ambient by the strictest definitions, but Shawn Hale skating to OPN is the closest, most recent example I can think of. Non-traditional song structure using new age-type sounds.


And don't forget about PJ Ladd skating to John Cage-4'33 


I'm sure there's better examples I'm blanking on.

At first I really didn't get this album, then it hit me.



Another full album, their later albums got more ambient. No tracks have drums so there'll be something for OP. Some of it borders on drone, but genres can get stupid right.





Kranky is an excellent label. Lots of ambient artists on there. Surprised I didn't see Grouper in here either:

One of the guys from SOTL is in this group too:

Their first album is especially excellent

Loscil is one of my favorite ambient musicians


He used to play drums for Destroyer, they still occasionally do collaborations


and Eno is the ambient god, obviously

Both Loscil and Stars of the Lid were on Kranky records, such a great label I recommend everyone here to check artists on there.
