I'm really passionate about documenting Detroit (where I live) as the city changes and have been doing so for the past 15 years. Anyway, I recently got a dash cam with a wide angle lens and have been making videos of various areas of Detroit during quarantine and then editing them to some relaxing loft beats.

With so many structures being razed, new structures being created, and art being covered up/removed among other changes quickly happening in the city, my hope is these videos can be used as a point of reference for the buildings, establishments, art, etc. that exist in each of these areas for comparison in the future…or just to simply serve as a relaxing way to virtually experience various parts of Detroit.

A few of the videos if anyone is interested:

Downtown Detroit - Part 1

Murals of Eastern Market - Part 1

Been playing a lot of Smash Brothers on the Switch with the kids lately. I typically choose Mr Game and Watch.

I got a jump rope, realized I sucked at it right away. Will keep trying.

Ripping all my skate dvds.

Checked out “The Invisible Man” last night. It was pretty good.

Update: I fucking exercised with my wife and broke the ice. I don't care if it was to Billy Blanks, Tae Bo kicked my ass.

Random fact: Billy Blanks' son, Billy Blanks jr., used to own a sushi restaurant where I lived. Serving minors booze and throwing karaoke parties the sushi chefs absolutely hated. That operation got shut down so fast but he was a total sweetheart.

Just landed on world 7 of Super Mario 3. I've been cheating by using map guides but whatevs.

HBO put a bunch of stuff out for free on HBO NOW. Binged the first season of Barry tonight. Other than that, just trying to keep a 6 year old occupied and not on a screen all day.

I did make yogurt for the first time. We had a whole gallon of milk that my kid didn’t like and didn’t want to waste it. Used my insta pot and some starter cultures I got on amazon, but you can use just plain yogurt too. It turned out really good, so going to make it a regular thing instead of buying it at the store.

Edit: Anyone else watch the new Tim and Eric show Beef House?

I've only seen the trailers for BH, it's cool they got Meadow Soprano on there though

Yesterday afternoon I drank and smoked in a park by myself while watching Mars Attacks! on my ipad. Was a pretty fun activity 8/10

Taking care of a 3 year old and my dog basically consumes most of my time, but i am TRYING to teach myself photoshop in those rare 'to myself' times.

Does anybody have any links to good tutorials?  There's a bunch on Youtube but I'm hoping somebody has tried some with success.

I built a bunch of planter boxes and bought some veggie/herb starts. I’ve already managed to kill two tomato plants so its going great. Anyone grow peppers? I got a ghost pepper plant and a habanero plant.

really fortunate to have a bank to curb to skate on the side of the house. so lots of that and taking trick suggestions from friends.

did a 750 piece puzzle by myself in 10 1/2 hrs and want to get another puzzle but lots of places are out of them.

eating tons of snacks but also doing lots of pushups

tried riding my mom's old bike and it broke less than a mile from the house.

emailed someone at a university about possibly getting started on a graduate program

broke the board i've been skating all quarantine and need to get grip but have to drive nearly an hour for the nearest shop(worthy of supporting) that is doing curbside pickup.

puzzles are fun surprisingly.

I did a few over the winter with my parents before this whole lockdown thing started we did 3 1000 piece and 1 2000 piece. They did them mostly but I had to help them with some of the harder parts. I just blankly stare at the table and find the damn piece can't really explain how I do it.

I feel like anyone who has to deal with winter excels at this lockdown thing cuz we were forced to make up boring stuff to do for 6 months a year anyways.

Not surprisingly I've spent most of my time posting annoying stuff online cuz fuck it why not

What I should be doing is setting up a little studio rig of some kind cuz my gear is just sitting around doing nothing but I'm lazy and need a new computer sorta not really.

Playing guitar is the ultimate time killer for me but deciding on a decent signal path is always a struggle for me. I don't have an amp I like and there's so many plugins I can never stay decided on a chain.

Lately I end up fucking around with new softsynths like this Brainworx oberheim one and Korg's Arp Odyssey one.

I really want to order one of those new Behringer Pro-Ones cuz the Pro-One is my favorite monosynth and always will be.

I've had a bunch of synths over the years but currently have a Nordwave, MPC-X, Korg Mono/Poly, Korg Delta, Moog Source, SE boomstar, and a couple other random things not worth listing.

My Dad is really into studiogear so he is constantly fucking around with computers and old hardware which I mostly ignore but ended up knowing a fair bit about just due to proximity. He uses a program called Soundscape and some UAD plugins which sound pretty good to my ears. I generally don't record my music but it's all kind of meaningless to me. I like showing people how synths work in person though or give advice on setting up studios. I have pretty bad OCD so I think about little details in studio setups other people overlook. I can talk about this stuff all day but I spare people because gear talk is like a completely different language to the uninitiated.

There was no wire. Clark's planet needed him.

It was cool. Felt more like a documentary about their family. Thought they would touch more on the shop and it’s hey day. I’d recommend it for sure though.

We have a garage, it's filthy at the moment with garbage and an old broken down car so there's not much room, but now that we'll be in lockdown for another month I'm thinking about swallowing my pride and cleaning it out despite not being the one who left it such a huge mess just so I could have a little place to skate flatground.
