This is about 26.5" long and 6.25" wide. I'm probably going to work on it a little more and egg the shape a little. I'll have a better idea of the final shape and size I want once I can put the trucks on it.

Shaping this Lance Mountain popsicle I found on CL for cheap.
Its a longer Zinger shape at 31.5 x 7.75".  At the bolts it's 6.75/7" so looking to add some narrow trucks.

cut with a handheld jigsaw, and round/sand the edges with a handheld orbital sander.
been delayed with house and yard projects, and then skating my reg setup when i have free time.

Love how those 56mm wheels dwarf the trucks. Looks sick. You gonna skate that upside down? Lots of nose and tail on there...

thanks! yeah upside down, goal is to set up like a true blender polarizer.
i'll increase the wheelbase and mount the trucks as close to the curve of the kicks as possible.

I'm still rounding up parts for my bootleg polarizer, but i've been cruising on this thing during quarantine.  Alva, lil Trackers, OJ Super Juice, Reds & soft bushings.  the bushings make the most difference with these little trucks.

anyone know what's good with the Zip Ziiiiiinger deck? it's 7.7 x 35.75(?!). guess im wondering how flexy the 19.35 wheelbase is or whether its too fucking long for tiny trucks

I run a 19 inch wheelbase axle to axle on my heated wheel polarizer with Sure Grip rollerskate trucks.  Has a nice flex to it.

I wonder what the completes come with, id assume the smallest Thunders.

So the general consensus is that roller skates > skateboard trucks for a polarizer? Debating between Sure Grips or Half Tracks, both are pricier than I hoped for but at least roller skate come with two pairs.

Just a lil more work since I’ll have to cut them and redrill mounting holes, but thats all good.

Never tried them but I heard from a dude who builds polarizers that the half tracks fucking suck as far as turning goes.

Sure grips are awesome. I may sound like a party pooper but the upside down board didn't really float my boat. A straight up plank with  no concave, 1960s style, feels better for tight speedy turns. My foot muscles actually got oddly fatigued on the polarizer and I don't think it made my turns any better. I respect the polarizer though.

What bit would you use? Regardless, I think any way you use a Dremel is going to result in a really rough cut that will be tortuous to sand, and you probably don't have any power sanding equipment I'm guessing. I'd do your board justice and try to get your hands on a jigsaw.

Why not a coping saw? It will take longer but the cut will be smooth.

Homemade polarizer with sure grip trucks and OJ Keyframes.  Bones medium bottom bushing for a quick rebound and an ace top bushing for a softer feeling turn.  Grip to be determined.

Edit:  Sorry for the poorly sized photos.  Laptop is out of commission and I’m not so savvy with the ol smartphones.

Half inch screws screwed directly into the bottom side of the deck.  I did countersink the screw heads into the baseplate for a more secure fit.

imma try using my dremel 8220 with a routing bit. was using it at work lately and that shit is strong, so maybe if i take it easy it'll go down smoothly. wish me luck.

also, any kind of wood filler should suffice, right?

Good luck with the Dremel tool!  I’m not sure how that’ll work but I’m sure with some patience you can get through it.  And for sure any wood filler works.  I personally like to put painters tape over the holes on one side of the deck and then fill the holes from the open side to make it easy.  Hope it turns out sick dude!

has anyone skated one of these Blender style boards on a pumptrack?

I have a big bmx pumptrack within driving distance of me and I plan on building one of these regardless as soon as I get back to my parents house where I had the trucks shipped (months ago) but I'm still curious if anyone has done it. I've skated it with a cruiser with big soft wheels and a more "normal" shaped board with 56mm F4s and both were fun.

Seems like it could be super fun.

Finally got some properly tiny trucks for my 5Boro cruiser.  I had been running Venture 5.0’s on it since I got it.  These are a much better fit.

29.25” x 7.6” with 13.5” wheelbase
Ace 00 trucks
Street Plant 62mm/78a wheels
Bones Big Balls bearings

did you try angling your feet a bunch?

I mean instead of: | / (goofy foot) or | \ (regular foot)

make them: / / or \ \

and relax your legs a bunch. On tiny boards with no concave or even convex shape I used to try to grip the board with my toes and my feet would get tired, but standing at a high angle and relaxing my legs helped a bunch.

X-post from the cruiser thread.

The convex definitely gets your feet tired if you try too hard.

Sure Grips with Bones Med bushings and Indy SuperSoft bushings. I’d run fully SuperSoft if I had an extra pack.
60mm OJ SuperJuice with 3 washers on the inside.
SuperSwiss6

I came across this thread researching how to build a vintage style cruiser with rollerskate trucks, but then impulse bought this G&S complete designed by Blender.

Needless to say, the ride is so amazing. Hard to ride my real setup afterwards. I've never ridden a board with no concave, it's really fun to feel it flex under your feet when you're making tight turns with your feet together.

Yeah dude it’s the best!  Really trying to lean into the turns and just tucking in, so much fun.
