Ran out of money probably and his shoe was sluggish and Lakai didn’t see the revenue return it hoped for.

damn, didn't someone mention this in one of the other shoe threads last week?  Something about dad getting on Vans before Riley does. I figured it was a joke or wild speculation, but damn this came outta nowhere.

It's a great move for Vans. I don't think Lakai will last this Coronavirus shit.

First off, this is super sick and caught me off guard.
Second, you all gotta stop saying lakai is going under, you all been saying this since Koston left, lakai might not be making nike sales but they ain’t going anywhere, and they’ve clearly proven that

This is super random and cool, but are they ever going to give Reynolds a proper introduction to the team like this?

Haha. I mean, I do wonder what happened and how quickly things fell apart. Just because they released that new Proto collaboration super recently. Shit must have changed fast.

I also get people being bummed that Tony is announced fully before Andrew, but I think people are ignoring just how much mainstream appeal Tony still has. Vans doesn’t really need it but it’s still a thing they want to take full advantage of and mention as much as possible.

It kind of felt like Lakai had a celebrity with Tony on the team but on Vans it feels normal.

Nah, they’ve been off the wall since ‘66.

How did this get an official announcement before Reynolds?

I heard they were supposed to get announced at the same time at a Vans event that ended up getting canceled because of budget cuts due to COVID.

Riley rips on Lakai, especially in The Flare. I like Lakai, hope they're gonna stick it out in all this.

But, I would be stoked to see Riley on Emerica with Figgy and Colin.

Wondering if he'll get a shoe. I know that's a big deal for Vans but Birdman swings a big dick when he signs contracts.

Yes, what a great move that would be for Emerica, further establishing the SoCal market.
