Surprising, kinda cool.

I like(d) the Tony lakai shoe. Thought it was dope they shot a shot: wasn’t the safe choice, came out decent. They just kinda lakai’d it tho. Made it slightly too cheaply, charged a little too much for it, didn’t really do much for the shoe promo wise.

Wonder what’s up for lakai? They’ve had a few decent shoes lately. I don’t know anything about marketing, and I also don’t know anything about manufacturing, but it feels like if lakai would commit to making smaller runs, of high quality/diverse product, they’d be better off. They sent for years making 9 of the same vulc shoe, making everything as cheaply as possible.

I heard they were supposed to get announced at the same time at a Vans event that ended up getting canceled because of budget cuts due to COVID.

It feels Iike forever since reynolds started wearing vans...no COVID around at that time.
