I could see Numbers done as a whole. Both Guy & Koston should just go back to Girl in my opinion. Wait until Cory gets out, then drop a full length.

Koston and Guy are two of the greatest to ever do it, but this is the most directionless brand around. Just get Kyron on Isle, and Durao on like Quasi or Krooked and call it a day.

Numbers has been more than disappointing. Isn’t it Koston and Guy’s brand though?

Best fit scenarios if numbers goes under:
Koston: SkateMental or WKND
Guy:Real or Krooked
Durao:Quasi
Davis: Isle
Magnus: Primitive
TX: April

I liked the vibe of the videos they dropped on YouTube... no music, just homies skating around DTLA.

Skate videos have been downhill ever since 411VM #20

The riders are great, I liked the videos, just checked the website to see product and the web design and some of the shirts are pretty cool, but it doesn't really stick to me as a brand or team. There seems to be an absence of a voice in the way the present themselves, with an almost voyeuristic take on their videos and seemingly total lack of push towards marketing / (like it or not, but it's a necessity) social media presence. Maybe creating a distance between Numbers and skateboarding, and maybe attempting to tap into boutique tee shirt company or something like umm, I don't know...fuck...uhh..Braindead, Pelvis, or CNY. I'm not sure if that really hits the mark of what I'm talking about. Now that I think of it and rewatch the video, I'm thinking of it now more as a lookbook.

I think the only time I saw Numbers advertised more of an editorial type thing in a Japanese magazine called Ollie. It's not really a skateboard magazine but has legit skate stuff in it. It feels more like a Japanese thing like Popeye Magazine or something. I've met Kyron but haven't seen an average kid own one of their boards. Like I said, their team is amazing. Loved the Magnus Adidas part, Antonio is one of my current era favorites, TX is one of my all time favorites.

What is the theme of this story? Nothing, or nothingness. If this is to happen, they deserve a good home. They need a clean, well-lighted place.

Doesn't surprise me...

My guess is it will be done as a whole soon.
Not that I wish that upon someone.

But I did expect WAY more from a company started by two of the all-time great street skaters.

The art direction is not good, since there is no 'direction' at all. It's all over the place, they started as this super sleek and minimalistic company and now hey have decks that look like FA or Quasi, but 10 times uglier. No personality whatsoever.

It was also an opportunity to put out a little footage here and there of Koston and Mariano and people would be definitely be psyched (look at Chico!).

But they really didn't do anything with it...

Ah well, we'll see. SLAP has been right more than once about this kind of stuff.

I like numbers. The idea of having series with different artists each time is a cool concept. That is the brand image. Small runs with different artists.  Really enjoyed their youtube stuff, just wish there was more.

But scientology tho. Or is koston/scientology just a rumor?
