Numbers finally got sick of Koston's joke runs at Tampa Pro.

This isn't 'nam. There are rules.

Anotonio Durao could be one of the biggest names in skateboarding right now, Numbers have done a pretty criminal job of marketing their team. Miles Silvas seems to get about way more since he left. Durao should join April, they've got potential to be a really good company

Antonio is doing the best shit.
That’d be making the same mistake (to skate for April)
Yuto is super sick.
Kyron is cool, Magnus is really really good imo.
Point being he’s been on a team with other young great skaters. I guess if you were close with people you could vibe, learn from that’d be cool, but it doesn’t seem to be the case with any of these super brands that there is some collective mentality or people brining one another to greater heights.

Frog makes sense. Just skate with your friends.

The krooked legends thing, if true sounds cool. Classic slap rumor. Krooked used to have the best graphics/vibe.
I’ve seen Gottwig skate in person, so I’m a fan. His footage never seemed to match the impression his skating gave me in person. Hope he stays on, or goes hard at something else, but at a certain point I can only imagine being way over it. Dude is the nicest.

Normally it might be worth it for someone to spend their own income from Nike to keep their shitty brand afloat if they have ideas or creativity they want to share with the world through their brand. This is not the case with Numbers as they zero ideas for their company and don’t seem interested in having much of a direction or image.

If you’re spending your own money to keep it going but then doing nothing with it, what’s the point? The team is sick but they can all go somewhere cooler. Your company doesn’t need to exist.
lol no one is spending their own money or salary to keep Numbers afloat.   Wasn't it that Sinclair interview where he talks about all these smaller brands only existing because they're supported by a major shoe company in the background?

Yeah, but I think most of the support comes in an indirect way. For example, the shoe company pays for a trip somewhere and some of that footage goes to the board company. Then, the board company also gets exposure through their rider being in say the nike team in Barcelona edit. The shoe money also frees the skater up to film compared to being a Black Label or Heroin rider where you probably have to work a job and can only really film in your area on weekends.

On the subject of Numbers, Guy was looking a bit dusty a while back. Hope he hasn't gone MIA due to relapse!

Koston is still the Law in my book.

He's the true genesis of next level tech gnar.

His exodus from Numbers would be like "Duder, oh no, me oh my don't leave it cuz you're the best!"

Sorry if I tor ah hole in this thread.

Numbers' last YouTube upload was over a year ago, for what it's worth.  I like some parts of the company but it feels a little directionless to me. Maybe I'm just not paying enough attention.

I do think Antonio Durao is a real special skateboarder though. Big fan.

Numbers - Koston's bland company I couldn't even describe if I had to.

April - Shane's bland company that, out of all of the potential ideas for a brand, he called April and wrote "April" in a basic font on a white board.

Primitive - P-Rod's company that does shiny metallic / DragonBallZ boards but is somehow the best out of these three options.

edit: not a knock on any of the teams' riders.

Matt Gottwieg reminds me of every hometown hero dude in every small southern town. Tall, lanky, shaved head, super good but no style or anything anyone would latch onto, but shows up at every contest and gets 2nd place.

imagine if Tiger Woods showed up to a golf tournament wearing a T-shirt, laid on the ground and shot balls with his putter like a pool cue....

this is how much effort Koston has put into being a professional in the Last decade

IDEAL SITUATIONS:
Koston and Durao on Frog
Guy on Krooked
Kyron on Isle
Magnus on Primitive (Real as well? maybe?)
Rodrigo on Chocolate or Palace

Just noticed Guy's insta hasn't been updated since August.

I thought skaters lived on IG?

WTH has he been doing the last 9 months?

Herion? Do they still make boards?

2nd vote would be for PJ. sometimes it is a fine command of the english language to say nothing and he extended that to skating. PJ's plan B part is the emperor's new clothes.

On a mathematical note, the fact that Numbers never got a chance to colab with Puleo is way too coincidental.
