Carts of darkness

A film by Murray Sipple, filmed by Mike Mckinlay. One of my favourite docs of all time, share it with your kids or your parents or whoever needs something like this in their life.

What about it speaks to you?
When nothing in society deserves respect, we should fashion for ourselves in solitude new silent loyalties.

yes, that's a good movie. I remember particularly liking the philosophy of the old timer, can't remember his name, the most orderly dude.

this doc is cool, definitely worth a watch. bombing hills on shopping carts that you have little to no control over is gnarlier than any hill bomb on a board haha

Clicked through the video, sort of reminds me of this:

I love when people bring up world hunger. It makes everything meaningless.
"That guy is double parked."
"Who cares? There are people starving to death! Besides, how does that affect you? Does it lessen the joy of parking?

I watched this around when it came out but don't really remember much other than the general crazy shopping cart hill bombing.

I laughed a bit rewatching the beginning when the narrator describes how he relates to them since they have the "same outlaw energy that drew him to snowboarding."

Nothing says outlaw more than having a bunch of overpriced gear, having to pay anytime you want to participate, and then patiently waiting in line over and over again. Snowboarding itself it pretty cool but 90% of them are your classic rich kid jock kooks. To me it couldn't be any more far removed from snowboarding but they both go fast down hills at least.

That looks super interesting, thanks for the recommendation. I’ll look for that one next time I’m at the library
