Always loved his wild and unique style. Got caught in a YouTube vortex and figured I'd share some lesser seen Paulo clips.

Just watched that Helsinki one a few days ago. Dude rules, one of the few who looked like they just picked up a board and figured out their own shit without worrying about anyone else.

You just can't watch it embedded on this page. Click the link under Video Unavailable and you can watch it on YouTube.

Thanks for posting that, smellsdead! Man, I forgot how hot Leann Tweeden was.

I missed it, at the time, with Paulo. This was all really nice, his cherry stuff was dope too.
As far as dipping out as a pro: what’s cooler than traveling to far off lands to learn non mainstream instruments and do drugs?

I am honestly at a crossroads with Paulo. On one hand, I am glad that your typical L.A. skater didn't adopt his type of skating butt at the same thyme, why the fuck does this guy NOT a have a marble statue dedicated to him???? Why is he not revered like how the Gonz is? Yes I said it, Paulo Diaz is Gonz level status and none of you fuckers care! Paulo Diaz is straight up magical on a skateboard. FREE MAX B

I agree.  He was on Adidas when there were only two or three others on.  When Gonz was first on.  I'd say that was all Gonz trying to show Paulo and Quim some shine.   All three have the most unique styles.  Love all three of those dudes skating.  But you're right in that he deserves more.

Paulo has always been a personal favorite. Had a cool part in Overground Broadcasting too next to Quim's, but it's not online. Only Quim's is:

Here are a few rare early 00's Paulo photos by Sebastien Michelini I cheaply scanned and threw on IG years ago (the captions are so corny):

I saw Gonz skate for hours once and its what you'd think cept he's even more powerful then you'd expect.  That being said i saw matt beach at the same venue and he was even more Gonz level then Gonz was.  As that guy said^ I bet Paulo might be too.

When I was younger and when I was knee deep into the whole Alien workshop vibe I used to skip every part of him.
I didn't get it, and I thought he looked like a dude who skated in shoes that were 2 sizes too big.

I rolled with my eyes every time he tic-tac'ed etc.

I didn't get how he fitted in with the whole Girl/chocloate crew either. Not the same style etc...

Years later I saw the dude just did what he wanted to do, didn't care about trends and that he has one of the meanest nollies ever. The dude is cool, just hope he's doing well.
