So far everyone I’ve met personally through Slap have been solid dudes.

Me and Francis Xavier have gone to a couple of premieres together. That’s my dawg!

Hung out with GAY a few times and we went to The Eagle together once.

Went to some events with Tom, mynameisnotjeff and Trickflip.

There’s plenty other guys that I chat with regularly through Instagram or text like doublesteveburger and Fakie Nollie.

I’ve been trying to be more open with meeting people as of late.

I like when you put skate video part highlights in your Insta stories 👍🏻 Keep doing those!

The only poster I've met that I know of is ghost lurker. He works at Freedom Skate Shop in Madison, WI

This is a big stretch, but back in college, I was writing a research paper about skateboarding and skate videos. I used a few articles posted on chromeball incident and had to email chops for bibliography citations. So yeah chops and I are homies

At the George Floyd event I met a new shalomie.  I been watching him skate already before he said hello.

I was skating at a court spot in Austin on a trip and pretty vividly remembered sending some "yew"s this one dude's way and we didn't say anything to each other cause there were a good amount of people there. Might've handed him his board or something, or him to me at some point.

Posted my set up a few days later and a poster responded asking if I was skating the court spot cause he remembered my shoes and setup. He said which guy he was and I totally remembered him. It was a cool little thing.

I've also got some friends I skate with that lurk/ post on occasion, which I found out after we became friends.

Almost 12 years ago I went on a trip to Canada and made a thread on Slap asking for help with spots. Ended up meeting one of my best friends for life as a result (Slap Pal known as "Professional"). Was definitely a life changing connection for both of us and had a significant impact on both of our local skate scenes (at the time we lived in cities that are about 4 hours apart). We still trip out at times about how it all came about and happened because of Slap.

Were suppose to go again in the future. So lets make that happen. I talk with Rustybearings dad Buddy. He's super rad and sends me shirts and stickers. I want to skate the park he had built. it’s funny, I used to travel so much with my old position and before the Rona hit, nowadays it’s rare that I venture beyond the prefecture, let alone off said island. I’m sure our paths will cross one day...

He unfortunately doesn't post any longer, but crackrazor and I met up about five years ago and spent a year hanging out, skating, going to parties. I met his friends. He came to a poetry book launch of mine, as awkward as it was. Last time we hung out, I was moving so he gave me a pair of D3s as a parting gift and we gifted them to someone's bike basket. Fun times. I still consider him a great friend and we stay in touch on Insta. Hopefully we'll link in person again soon.
