No, and this sort of thinking makes no sense.  We’ve all know a few artists who thought they had to suffer to be great - a few of us may have been that person.  It doesn’t work, right?  Either you’re good or you’re not.  You can train up to be better but being a slob or an OCD makes as little difference as high or straight.  If you can skate you can skate.  Trying new things is ‘t a bad idea, but who would want to try on neuroses?  If anything, pros are just like everyone else, only more closely documented while challenging themselves.  Sometimes it’ll come out as rage or insanity, other times it’ll smolder like self-loathing.  Some ppl are peaceful as hell but focus boards like a demon.  Some ppl preach a lot of love but lose their whole identity the moment they can’t master a trick.  There’s no secret sauce, for every Mullen there’s a Gonz.
