I never noticed how flat of a board Luan skates; looks kinda warped too.

Flip boards always looked like a piece of Laffy Taffy to me. A concave less, oval shaped piece of blah

I really like the view out of the window of that indoor park, it makes me think it’s pretty high up. If I ever become rich I’ll have a penthouse skatepark in Manhattan.

Yeah and you can buy all the candy you want and just eat it if you want to because you’ll be rich and our mommies and daddies and teachers won’t be able to say anything to us in our skatepark in the sky because we can pay to put them in jail lol.
When nothing in society deserves respect, we should fashion for ourselves in solitude new silent loyalties.

I see a lot of kids riding his boards here in Brazil, he's got a TON of fans here. That's what's probably keeping him on...

Should see it in the surfing world. Well, it's backing off now but has been heinous.
Now, we used to say we put on our tights to put on the world. So I don't think it tarnishes the image at all.

Luan is weird.

He’s definitely one of my favorites just based on his flat ground alone, but I don’t really dig all the park skating. He fits in a weird limbo with me where I love him on the merit of his skating, but wish he’d put out an actual interesting street part.

I guess I consider him similar to Tom Asta , but Tom being the opposite in that he actually supplies me with what I enjoy as a viewer.
Yea.
Never realized that until you said it.
I’d like to see primitive but I’d say he goes FA or hockey...unfortunately.

Flip is a timeless brand. A legacy that is pretty hard to just die out. If they can get the behind the scenes shit straight, don't be funny with the money (if they indeed were), keep the talent and legends they do have, pull in a hungry TM that knows how to acquire new talent, stay away from dumb controversies, beef up their management and art teams (let's be honest, some of these new graphics aren't exactly cutting-edge) and had their dist dept get be proactive about getting product out there...and they're right back on top.

I've been to shops that have told me they simply don't know how to get product from Flip. And I've seen shops that have a healthy supply, though I'm not sure if it's just old product.

I've bought probably 6 Penny decks from Flip straight through the website during COVID-19. $54 each. So maybe that's their new strategy: go straight to the consumer and skip the middleman skate shops. I don't think that's a winning strategy in the long run (def not for the shops) but then again I bought from them so I dunno. I feel like there's a demand for Flip.

^^^I got 3 of those, 1 of the 20th anniversary Portrait deck and couple reissues of the original deathbox logo.  Seems like they all sell out pretty quickly once they get listed.
