Flip is a timeless brand. A legacy that is pretty hard to just die out. If they can get the behind the scenes shit straight, don't be funny with the money (if they indeed were), keep the talent and legends they do have, pull in a hungry TM that knows how to acquire new talent, stay away from dumb controversies, beef up their management and art teams (let's be honest, some of these new graphics aren't exactly cutting-edge) and had their dist dept get be proactive about getting product out there...and they're right back on top.
I've been to shops that have told me they simply don't know how to get product from Flip. And I've seen shops that have a healthy supply, though I'm not sure if it's just old product.
I've bought probably 6 Penny decks from Flip straight through the website during COVID-19. $54 each. So maybe that's their new strategy: go straight to the consumer and skip the middleman skate shops. I don't think that's a winning strategy in the long run (def not for the shops) but then again I bought from them so I dunno. I feel like there's a demand for Flip.
